Essential Functions & Requirements: * Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and consistently maintaining safe practices * Loads, unloads and processes solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local rules and regulations * Operates a fork truck and Bobcat with attachments * Directs liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storage * Performs basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed * Perform chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issues * Utilizes barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activities * Reviews laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials * Uses Department of Transportation (DOT) knowledge to match and label inbound materials for storage and shipping of containers to other sites * Utilizes proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checks * Operates a hydraulic baler for cardboard and other materials * Maintains operating areas, walls, pipes, and floors in a clean and safe condition * Utilizes knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA and permit regulations * Utilizes Arcwood coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers * Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection and a respirator * Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization Education: * High-school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience: * 1+ years of related experience (required) * 40 hour HAZWOPER certificate (preferred) Competencies: * Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner * Working knowledge of EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations and general industry practices * Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts * Ability to lift up to 60lbs * Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, including a respirator * Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role Benefits, Compensation, & Workforce Diversity: Arcwood offers competitive pay and bonus incentives.
