The Material Handler II supports the Single Serve personnel and is responsible for several production-based duties including but not limited to: moving inventory (both raw and finished goods) in and out of the production area, staging machines with proper materials, and stacking and wrapping finished goods on pallets. The Material Handler II position reports to the Single Serve Leads. This position will receive daily supervision and instructions from the Single Serve Leadership Team (Leads and Production Manager). Principal Job Duties: Accurately interpret work orders and other instructions to assure proper materials and specifications are being followed. Ensure that all machines are staged with adequate materials to perform necessary work orders. Execute material changeovers on select machines frequently throughout the shift. Accurately complete all required quality checks and paperwork. Move raw materials from the inventory area into the production area and finished material to shipping area for transport. Operate an electric or manual pallet jack in a safe and proficient manner. Stretch wrap and secure pallets for shipping. Complete RF transactions to ensure tracking and regulatory compliance. Essential Functions & Requirements: Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times Loads, unloads and processes solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, federal, state and local regulations/rules Operates a fork truck and Bob Cat with attachments as well as brooms, shovels, production machines, palletizers, tractor, ladders and stairs Attaches appropriate labels and tags to products and packages Packs finished goods into correct packages, pails and lace finished goods on designated pallets Directs liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storage Performs basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed Performs chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issues Utilizes barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activities Reviews laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials Utilizes Department of Transportation (DOT) knowledge to match and label inbound materials and for storage and shipping of containers to other sites Uses proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checks Operates a hydraulic bailer for cardboard and other materials Keeps operating areas, walls, pipes and floor in a clean and safe condition Utilizes knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA and permit regulations Maintains an understanding of Heritage Coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers Safely and appropriately utilizes personal protection equipment (PPE), such as Boots, Gloves, Suits, Eye/Ear Protection and Respirator Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization Education: High-school diploma or equivalent (required) 24/40 hour HAZWOPER Certification (preferred) Experience: 1+ years of related experience (required) Competencies: Ability to develop a working knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations, along with general industry practices Ability to work cohesively as part of a team Ability to lift up to 75lbs in an outdoor environment during a 12-hour shift Ability to wear full personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role Benefits, Compensation, & Workforce Diversity: Arcwood offers competitive pay and bonus incentives. Functions (Scope and Main Purpose of Job): Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. To keep accurate report of all materials received, inspect shipments, and reconcile packing slips or manifests with actual items, and verify that materials are delivered to correct departments or properly stored in warehouse. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services. Leads the work of shipping and receiving personnel performing related work. Specific responsibilities and duties Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares quantities shown on packing slips to actual items received and original purchase order. Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method. Prepares bill of lading for each shipment and check all records loaded for shipment. Maintains other shipping records such as goods returned, returnable pallets and other shipping materials. Select appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery. Reconciles computer records with physical inventory according to established schedule. Enters receipt of goods into computerized inventory records, including item number, quantity, price, etc., according to instructions. Operate a dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment. Spot-check inventory on a daily basis. Report any discrepancies to Supervisor over shipments when a substitution has been made. Provide advice regarding supplies or property including price and availability. Coordinate disposal of surplus property and manage record retention. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock and trash areas. Maximize work load through effective and proper procedures for receiving all products. JOB REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Knowledge, and abilities) Three to five years' experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse techniques, supervising people and processes. Two-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Ability to input data on computer to create a daily inventory report, routine administrative paperwork. Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures. Analyze and interpret departmental needs and results. Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers. Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures. Knowledge of OSHA Storage regulations for Hazardous Chemical labeling and ALL OSHA requirements. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Knowledge of Alcohol Beverage Control laws for local area. Knowledge of Health regulations, applicable OSHA regulations and Gaming regulations. Ability to lead, guide and train employees performing related work. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as determined by the Arkansas Racing Commission.
