We are looking for a Structures Project Engineer interested in heavy civil construction with 2 to 5 years' experience to join the team on our Tim Bell Road Bridge Replacement Project in Stanislaus County.
Myers and Sons has been contracted for a structural project to remove and reconstruct the existing Tim Bell Road Bridge over Dry Creek. The project consists of replacing the existing historical bridge with a combination of a flat slab bridge and parabolic box girder. Work includes large diameter CIDH pile, falsework, trestle and bridge post tensioning. The project is expected to be completed over the course of two seasons.
We are looking for a person that can develop a deep understanding of the project documents, including the contract with the owner, subcontracts, cost reports, CPM schedules, specifications, project deliverable documents, correspondence, billings, and related project controls items. This person should feel comfortable navigating and working within accounting and project documentation software such as Vista and be detailed oriented. In addition to office tasks, this person will work closely with the project superintendent to develop and execute work plans and perform construction layout using AutoCAD and Lecia surveying equipment.

You will provide assistance in all technical aspects of projects, conduct engineering research, assessments, and coordinate with private consultants and public agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team.
Develops working drawings for civil design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management and street frontage improvements) from sketches.
Uses engineering judgment to perform duties and knows when to ask questions, seek assistance or perform independent research.
Manages personal time allotted to various tasks in order to meet obligations of one or more projects, including budget, quality and schedule.
Provide accurate design of on-site and off-site improvements for the planning and construction of commercial, industrial, and/or high-density residential projects that are ready for construction.
Can provide accurate design of grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater treatment with minimal input from engineer of record.
Performs civil engineering calculations, SWPPP's and other engineering reports.
Effectively interacts with peers, clients, and sub-consultants.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent level of experience
5+ years of experience in land development
Engineering in training (EIT) or Professional Engineering License, CA
General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, etc.
Experience with AutoCAD required
Additional software experience a plus, e.g. Bluebeam, Agtek, Hydrology/Hydraulic Software, AutoCad Civil 3D
