Seeking a college graduate seeking internship. The Geotechnical Engineer Intern will provide support to the Geotechnical departments/team.
Duties/Responsibilities
:
Contact utility locating services to ensure project sites are safely marked before work begins
Perform boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging borings
Perform and supervise field exploration, including SPT sampling, rock coring, pile testing
Assist in developing a variety of layouts, drawings and designs
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Education/Experience:
Student currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners including clients, sub consultants, and utility companies
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable
Physical Requirements:
Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
