Job Summary
Responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures and tests in areas such as blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology and microbiology, using established protocols and procedures. Monitors, screens and troubleshoots devices, tests and procedures, recognizing anomalies, and making corrections to ensure quality.
Essential Functions
* Evaluates specimens for testing, utilizes appropriate criteria and upholds established performance standards. Applies established criteria for testing, and analysis of entire process from preparation, conducting test, functioning of devices and procedures to ensure quality test results. Performs waived, moderate and high complexity laboratory tests.
* Maintains equipment and tools; performs quality assurance testing, routine calibration and ensures optimal performance.
* May assist Technical Specialist or Supervisor with the evaluations of new methods and and procedures.
* Consults with clinicians, supervisor and other caregivers as appropriate on test results, requirements and testing protocols
* Gives direction and guidance to phlebotomy and specimen management teams, may assist with orientation of new caregivers and students, and assesses competencies.
* Maintains appropriate records for specimens, tests and data. Utilizes computer systems in reporting and documenting analysis.
* Participates in department in-services and continuing education programs, attending lectures, workshops and video presentation as required. Participates in required competency assessment and proficiency testing activities. Provides (CAP, HIPAA, etc) compliance support. HIPA, etc) and provides active support.
What you bring:
* Bachelor's Degree Required: Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science or Chemistry or Biological Science or an equivalent related science. Must qualify as Medical Technologist under CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489). Preference will be given to candidates who have completed an accredited laboratory training program. Program or institution must be accredited by a regional or national accreditation agency.
* 2 years Preferred: Clinical experience performing high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory department
* New graduates will be considered.
* Required: Upon Hire Medical Technologist - Medical Laboratory ScientistMedical Technologist orMedical Lab Scientist certification, ASCP or equivalent (AMT, AAB) is required. Accepted certification for non-US citizens includes ASCPi, AMT, or CSMLS.

Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician II (MLT II) in their role as testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results. * Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical consultant, technical supervisor, clinical consultant or director; and

Position Summary
The purpose of the Medical Laboratory Technologist position is to perform the tests in urinalysis, hematology, chemistry, immunology, and bacteriology which are ordered by medical practitioners. The technologist is able to oversee the routine day-to-day operations of the laboratory. Performance of these operations will necessitate the access of the lab computer system to input and retrieve data as well as review and analyze information. This position will interpret test results and make recommendations, perform phlebotomy and collect other specimens, and instruct patients when needed. The person in this position will assist in the maintenance of lab equipment and administrative duties such as uploading and troubleshooting Lab LIS information.
The position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM). 2. Collects and process clinical blood and non-blood specimens with patients of all ages. Dispense collection instructions to patients.
3. Performs reception duties by answering phones, registering patients in EMR, checking insurance, and providing necessary paperwork to patients.
4. Follows procedures, policies, and Medicare compliance regulations.
5. Follows safety procedures and maintains a well-ordered work area including records, supplies, and equipment.
6. Utilizes computer systems for data storage and retrieval.
7. Displays working knowledge of ICD10 coding and Medicare compliance regulations.

14. Demonstrates strong communication skills and a working knowledge in all areas of the lab and working knowledge of all LIS used within the laboratory.
Education, Experience, and Licensure:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Certification as a Phlebotomist or equivalent required (ASCP, NPA or ASCLS).
3. One (1) year of phlebotomy experience required.
4. One (1) year of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.
5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.

The Laboratory Assistant II collects and processes clinical blood and non-blood specimens; dispenses collection instructions to patients, maintains work area including records, supplies, equipment and safety; utilizes computer systems for data storage and retrieval; has working knowledge of ICD10 coding and Medicare compliance regulations. Acts as resource and trainer for new staff.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.
2. Performs adult and pediatric venous and capillary blood draws. Prepare and explain patient self-collection kits.
3. Registering and checking in laboratory patients. Scan, file, and disperse paperwork and faxes. Answering incoming calls from patients and clinical staff.
4. Proficiency in researching test requirements, documenting testing information, and retrieving missing orders. Ordering tests from requisitions sent by providers outside of TCC and ensuring all orders from the EMR interface properly with the LIS.
5. Processing incoming specimens including but not limited to: aliquot serum or plasma, receiving and ordering tests, dispensing specimen to proper departments, etc. Receives and documents patient specimen collection kit drop offs.
6. Follows safety procedures and maintains a well-ordered work area including records, supplies, and equipment.
7. Follows procedures, policies, Medicare compliance regulations (ABN).
8. Assists supervisor in training and serves as a resource for new staff.
9. Participates in in-house continuing education.
