Job Summary Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Dual Role Position. Laboratory Assistant and Limited X-Ray Machine Operator. Prepares laboratory specimens and supplies. Responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Clinical laboratory to perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and postanalytical phases of testing. Ensures all medical laboratory safety standards and quality requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel. Must utilize critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned. Will be required to sign a 3-year commitment to obtain Limited X-Ray Machine Operator Training and Certification. Which is required for this position. Follow strict guidelines about usage of radiographic equipment. Limited x-ray machine operators must have excellent communication skills in order to elicit patient data and explain radiologic procedures. Must be mentally prepared to work with critically ill patients and trustworthy enough to maintain patient privacy. Limited x-ray machine operators also must be proficient at record keeping.Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred. Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
