Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated Cardiac Technologist ready to pour their heart into making a difference. Cardiac Technologists are a part of life-saving diagnoses and care through the performance of cardiovascular tests and procedures. Individuals will work alongside a star team of physicians and nurses to deliver top-quality care to a wide variety of client populations, including children and geriatrics. Responsibilities
Performs invasive cardiac, peripheral vascular diagnostic, interventional and electrophysiology procedures using sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring and recording equipment to assess and treated cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
Possess a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care.
Possess knowledge of pharmacologic options for treatment and the impact it can have on exercise performance, hemodynamic and diagnostic tests.
Utilize different equipment, programs, and computers, including Cardiac, Vascular and EP experience XPER/CUPID/ GE, Siemens and Phillips XR system.
Ability to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology or equivalent experience is required.
Possesses expert knowledge in cardiovascular technology, including pharmacology and advanced cardiac rhythm management. Possesses a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care.
Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 12 months of hire is preferred. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable to position is preferred.
Depending on location Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 12 months of hire is required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable to position is preferred.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
Collects and prepares biological specimens for analyses using appropriate techniques and maintains the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed.
Determines acceptability of specimens within established guidelines, avoiding hemolysis, QNS, and wrong anticoagulant use.
Ensures equipment is functioning properly by performing or delegating performance of function checks, preventative maintenance and quality control. Documents actions.
Performs test analysis and reports test results in a timely manner meeting the expectations of physicians.
Assures initial calibration and standardization, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting for malfunction on instruments used in POC testing.
Conducts ongoing evaluation of functions and programs of the Laboratory relative to accreditation standards and recommends procedural changes.
Implements and monitors a Quality Assurance program to ensure the reliability of all technical services offered to meet internal and external regulations.
Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through education, conferences and seminars.
Demonstrates the willingness and ability to instruct other staff and students.

* Ensures initial calibration and standardization of equipment by applying criteria of acceptable functions and performance limits (i.e., precision, reproducibility, accuracy).
* Answers telephone promptly and courteously, identifying self and section. Demonstrates good judgment in directing phone calls/questions to appropriate section.
* Ensures smooth transition of duties within current shift and for oncoming shift by receiving pertinent information and conveying to other Healthcare personnel accurately and efficiently.

**A Brief Overview**
Provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysommography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. The Sleep Lab Technologist is responsible for sleep studies and communicating with the patient and physicians.
**What you will do**
+ Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing parameters/procedure in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and sleep laboratory protocols.

+ Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and makes adjustments as necessary. Applies electrodes and sensors according to published standards. Performs appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary. Properly fits and trouble shoots masks and nasal pillows.
+ Follows procedural protocols [such as Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MLT), parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen Titration etc.] to ensure collection of appropriate data.
+ Score clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals etc.) according to center specific protocols.
+ Performs routine and complex equipment care and maintenance. Evaluates sleep study related equipment and inventory.
+ Follows procedural protocols [such as Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MLT), parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen Titration etc.] to ensure collection of appropriate data.
+ Scores sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines. Involved in performing outreach sleep studies.

Essential Functions:
Collects and prepares biological specimens for analyses using appropriate techniques and maintains the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed.
Determines acceptability of specimens within established guidelines, avoiding hemolysis, QNS, and wrong anticoagulant use.
Performs all applicable testing with quality, speed, and accuracy according to established protocols and procedures. Evaluates specimen integrity and ascertains suitability for testing.
Performs test analysis and reports test results in a timely manner meeting the expectations of physicians.
Ensures prompt reporting of patient results for assigned department. Investigates problems involving collection, result reporting, and turn-around-time.
Organizes department workload for maximum efficiency.
Evaluates and interprets test results according to individual test specifications, performing necessary calculations; applies laboratory results to disease and/or patient therapy.
Ensures initial calibration and standardization of equipment by applying criteria of acceptable functions and performance limits (i.e., precision, reproducibility, accuracy).
Answers telephone promptly and courteously, identifying self and section. Demonstrates good judgment in directing phone calls/questions to appropriate section.
Ensures smooth transition of duties within current shift and for oncoming shift by receiving pertinent information and conveying to other Healthcare personnel accurately and efficiently.

Before the patient arrives in the room, prepares the procedure tray according to the Physician's preference and following sterile technique.
Consistently and Positively works as a team member, helps coordinates the days schedule with all staff members in the lab to efficiently finish the days work load. Is accountable at work and completes the necessary training to safely work and troubleshoot technical equipment.
Ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly.
Examines requisition for appropriate orders, exam date, indication for exam. Reprints corrected requisition.
Maintains knowledge of updates relating to supply stock, equipment, and procedural processes as they present themselves from Physicians and vendors.
Monitors, records, and documents procedure data with related paperwork: pressure tracings, EKG, and other procedural data. Documents and charges supplies with accuracy per use for each case involved.
Participates in quality control/performance improvement in Cardiac Cath lab/Ep as evidenced by report logs.
Establishes, maintains, and monitors the surgical environment to ensure that the potential for infection is reduced by proper sterilization, decontamination, and disinfection procedures.
Provides for the delivery of patient care based on individual needs through the collection of health data and ongoing patient assessment with identification of problems and needs.
Works cooperatively in assigned room to complete procedures and prepares for next case with minimal turnover time, as evidenced by observation of the surgical team. Promotes cooperative and efficient operation of the department (i.e., follows chain of command, cost containment, quiet environment), as evidenced by observation and feedback.

Once training in both areas are completed compensation will be adjusted to include both roles. Prepare patients for exams and explain procedures to them. Follow strict guidelines about usage of radiographic equipment. Limited x-ray machine operators must have excellent communication skills in order to elicit patient data and explain radiologic procedures. Must be mentally prepared to work with critically ill patients and trustworthy enough to maintain patient privacy. Limited x-ray machine operators also must be proficient at record keeping.
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
Collects and prepares biological specimens for analyses using appropriate techniques and maintains the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed.
Determines acceptability of specimens within established guidelines, avoiding hemolysis, QNS, and wrong anticoagulant use.
Performs all applicable testing with quality, speed, and accuracy according to established protocols and procedures. Evaluates specimen integrity and ascertains suitability for testing.
Performs test analysis and reports test results in a timely manner meeting the expectations of physicians.
Ensures prompt reporting of patient results for assigned department. Investigates problems involving collection, result reporting, and turn-around-time.
Organizes department workload for maximum efficiency.
Evaluates and interprets test results according to individual test specifications, performing necessary calculations; applies laboratory results to disease and/or patient therapy.
Ensures initial calibration and standardization of equipment by applying criteria of acceptable functions and performance limits (i.e., precision, reproducibility, accuracy).
Answers telephone promptly and courteously, identifying self and section. Demonstrates good judgment in directing phone calls/questions to appropriate section.
Ensures smooth transition of duties within current shift and for oncoming shift by receiving pertinent information and conveying to other Healthcare personnel accurately and efficiently.
Demonstrates the willingness and ability to instruct other staff and students.
All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Associates degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science. Or high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupation specialty of medical laboratory specialist (laboratory technician)
Certification - Medical Lab Technician (MLT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technology (AMT), or Military Laboratory Specialist
Preferred:
Education - Bachelors degree in chemical, physical, or biologic Sciences or Clinical Laboratory Science or Associates with Medical Technologists (HEW)
Certification - Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)/American Medical Technology (AMT) or Health and Human Services (HEW)
Experience - 1+ years of Laboratory Experience
Physical Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
Establishes a cooperative working relationship with all caregivers, physicians, and leaders by promoting professionalism, compassion, and communication.
Will be punctual and ready to fulfill the duties of the assigned shift.
Obtains blood specimens accurately and quickly using proper technique with attention to performing AIDET, patient identification, patient care, safety, and infection control practices.
Restocks supplies.
Receives and processes samples delivered to the lab. Stores samples appropriately.
Tracks add-on and extra samples, stores and discards specimens. Performs daily hold over logs and resolves sample problems.
Demonstrates knowledge of and performs a variety of clerical and computer functions to ensure smooth operation of the department.
Distributes specimens to the appropriate delivery point in each laboratory department.
Answers the telephone in assigned sections.
Involved in departmental and system wide quality improvement initiatives as requested.
All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
Preferred:
Education - NAACLS phlebotomy program
Certification - Phlebotomy Blood Technician (PBT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) - National Phlebotomy Solutions or Phlebotomy Certification from accredited University or accredited training professionals or Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA)- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (CMLA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
Experience - 1+ years in Clinical Laboratory and/or Healthcare Experience
