The Social Worker will work as a team member to provide clinical care for persons living with dementia and their families and achieve the goals and objectives of the Outreach, Recruitment and Community Engagement (ORE) Core, the Miller Family Buddy Program, in addition to other psychosocial initiatives. Specifically, the Social Worker will provide clinical social work services for persons living with dementia and their caregiving families in the Neurobehavior and Memory Clinic of Northwestern Medical Group; contribute to the recruitment and retention of research participants that meet Center research priorities; manage and facilitate monthly care partner support groups; and participate in the coordination and planning of an annual scientific conference. In addition, they will participate in the preparation and review of annual progress reports and competitive renewal for the NIA and other funding agencies. The Mesulam Center is a multi-departmental component of the Feinberg School of Medicine. We specialize in the clinical care and scientific study of neurological diseases that interfere with cognition and behavior. Areas of emphasis include age-related memory, language-based and behavioral dementias. We are focused on Alzheimer's disease, Primary Progressive Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia. Our three interacting missions are to investigate the causes and clinical characteristics of neurodegenerative diseases, to ensure that our patients and families are the beneficiaries of the latest research advances, and to prepare future scientists and clinicians in our field. Specific Responsibilities: * Provide clinical social work services to patients and families of the Northwestern Medicine Neurobehavior and Memory Clinic and center research participants.
