The Mental Health Prevention Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for planning and systemic needs associated with needs related to suicide prevention and mental wellness efforts, and best practices. The Mental Health Prevention Coordinator will contribute to the Department's Prevention Division to aid in a comprehensive and integrated approach to prevention. In doing so, the Mental Health Prevention Coordinator will act as the convenor and facilitator of stakeholders, with cross sector representation, supporting engagement, feedback, strategic planning, and action planning to enhance the prevention system of care. The Mental Health Prevention Coordinator will assist with addressing the complexity and interconnectedness of substance use and suicide risk, both of which sit within the broader behavioral health umbrella inclusive of mental health and illness and substance use disorder (SUD). This includes strengthening multi-sector collaboration through the Broome County Suicide Awareness For Everyone (BCSAFE) Coalition, supporting alignment with the Broome County Prevention Coalition, and integrating evidence-informed strategies across behavioral health initiatives. In this role, you will Facilitate, coordinate, and develop the Broome County Suicide Awareness for Everyone Coalition and activities initiated by the Coalition. Provide technical assistance to providers, businesses or community members of Broome County related to suicide prevention and postvention best practices. Conduct local outreach and education activities associated with mental health, mental wellness, and topics related to suicide. Monitor and report mental health and wellness programs and efforts across the County to the Prevention System of Care Manager, including opportunities to align with substance use prevention and broader behavioral health initiatives. Salaried positions are available after a caseload has been built up. With fee-for-service employment, therapists will be provided with billing services and support staff to help schedule clients, as well as a steady referral base and ongoing marketing. In addition, paneling with insurance will be provided. Therapists are provided fair compensation for their services. Full-time salaried positions offered include health, vision, and dental benefits, hospital indemnity insurance to assist in time taken off for maternity leave, participation in the company's IRA with 3% matching after 3 years of employment, 12 days paid time off, major holiday time off, and continuing education reimbursement opportunities. Must be able to work 3 evenings or 1-2 evenings and Saturdays to accommodate our patient population. You will provide evidence-based, trauma informed psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups. You will collaborate with the client, family, and other treatment team members to develop individualized treatment plans that positively manage and respond to the identified needs. You will create safety, crisis, and discharge plans in collaboration with the treatment team. You will gather and analyze information through a variety of methods that may include observation, interviews, self-report inventories, group discussions, and/or formal assessments You will coordinate and facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings as needed. You will collaborate and participate in other team meetings as requested. You will maintain a positive, professional relationship with all linkage and referral agencies.
