Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Summary:
A Radiation Therapist administers targeted radiation therapy to treat cancerous tumors as prescribed by radiologists and oncologists. They position patients with precision, operate advanced radiation therapy equipment, and ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation protection protocols. Radiation Therapists play a key role in delivering compassionate care, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes.
Essential Work Functions:
Position patients for treatment with accuracy, according to prescription to ensure effective treatment and minimize exposure to healthy tissue
Administer prescribed doses of radiation to targeted body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and safety protocols
Perform regular equipment checks of radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper functionality and troubleshoot issues as needed
Review prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification to confirm accuracy and compliance with the treatment plan
Follow radiation protection principles to ensure safety for patients, self, and others
Maintain records, reports, or files required, including such information as radiation dosages, equipment settings, or patient's reaction
Conduct treatment sessions independently, in accordance with long-term treatment plan and under the general direction of the patient's physician
Enter data into computer and set controls to operate or adjust equipment or regulate dosage
Observe and reassure patients during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician
Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of Radiation Therapist practice

A Brief Overview
Responsible for the daily coordination and delivery of physical therapy services implementing specific treatment program for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of physical therapy and established objectives of the department
What you will do
Evaluates assigned patients, gathering data from a variety of sources such as patient records, interviews, observation and team members.
Develops and implements individualized treatment programs for the patients needing services.
Uses selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health, and to achieve treatment goals, establishes and modifies intervention and strategies for patients' treatment program based on ongoing evaluation.

A Brief Overview
Provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysommography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education.
What you will do
Follows procedural protocols [such as Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MLT), parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen Titration etc.] to ensure collection of appropriate data.
Performs Polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and make adjustments, if necessary.
Documents routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
Implements appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level positive airway, pressure, oxygen administration, etc.).
Scores sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
Scores clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals etc.) according to center specific protocols.
Evaluates sleep study related equipment and inventory.
Involved in performing outreach sleep studies.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Registered Polysomnographer Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) within 1-1/2 Yrs or
Respiratory Therapist - Licensing Board within 1-1/2 Yrs
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
