They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible-enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. And, because our techs work in a variety of environments-a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility-their flexibility allows them to deliver the absolute best imaging care at any access point.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
Produces high quality diagnostic images.
Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
Trains new technologists and/or PC's.
Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
Must be dual certified as a Nuclear Medicine or Positron Emissions Tomography Technologist by the NMTCB or ARRT and Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT. The following Dual Certification designations meet Akumin policy: NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine or PET and ARRT (CT) or ARRT(N) and ARRT(CT).
State license required as applicable
CPR certification.
As applicable, valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities
+ Perform high-quality CT scans in accordance with established protocols.
+ Prepare scans for physician interpretation.
+ Provide imaging services to a diverse patient population, including neonates and geriatric patients.
+ Adhere to departmental workflow procedures.
+ Conduct routine scans including Neuro, MSK, Chest/Abdomen, and perform arterial/venous delayed scans.
+ Assist with drains/BX and conduct emergency exams as necessary.
Essential Skills
+ ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required within 1 year of hire.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
+ Experience in routine scans such as Neuro, MSK, Chest/Abdomen.
+ Familiarity with arterial/venous delayed scans and emergency exams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience level: 0-1 years.
+ Knowledge of departmental workflow.
Work Environment
The CT Technologist will work in a clean, climate-controlled imaging suite equipped with a CT scanner, control room, and nearby patient prep areas. The role requires movement between departments, including the ER and inpatient units. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and weekends.

Seeking a Computerized Tomography Technologist to perform CT diagnostic procedures as outlined by the radiologist. Working under the direction of the medical imaging management team, you will directly impact patient care through your knowledge, skills and abilities in diagnostic imaging, scheduling, transporting and maintaining inventory.
What you will do in this role:
You will operate diagnostic equipment, verify images and prepare the room with necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.
You will be responsible for ensuring that proper diagnostic information is provided through the production of high-quality CT scans.
You will perform CT exams on a variety of different body parts in a timely manner.
You will complete appropriate history forms and technologist exam sheet.
You will start I.V.s and check labs as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited Radiography program.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as Radiology and CT Technologist is highly preferred.
Registered Computerized Tomography Technician, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT) must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
