JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Will assess the patient and plan care within set time-frames and document findings according to policies.
Will oversee and supervise the shift. Demonstrates leadership through duties that may include: delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc. Will also oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team.
Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.
RN will consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
Delivery of quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies.
Assists/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND SPECIAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit and stand (one-third of the shift) and walk (two-thirds of the shift).
Ability to reach above, or below waist height, kneel, bend, stoop, turn, and twist (occasionally to frequently).
Ability to see well enough to read charts, treatment plans, and typewritten materials.
Ability to hear well enough to detect noise on the unit and have the ability to discern odors.
Ability to frequently push/pull wheeled carts up to 100 lbs.
Ability to frequently lift and carry 10 lbs.; occasionally 20-50 lbs.
Ability to spend majority of workday inside and the ability to spend part of the workday outside, assisting and supervising patients, as determined by hospital administration.
Ability to frequently handle hazardous/infectious waste.
Ability to work at a rapid pace and perform a variety of repetitive duties.
Ability to respond to exposure to blood and body fluids.
