Job Description
This role supports the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in conducting assessments for Veterans leaving military service or applying for disability benefits from the VA.
The Advanced Practice Provider will perform face-to-face, in-clinic assessments/evaluations with Veterans to complete the required Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) for submission to VA for eligibility determination. DBQs include questions that require a direct clinical exam of the Veteran (e.g., testing range of motion of joints, documentation of crepitus, etc.).
In addition to VA-related assessments, this role includes providing occupational health services for various government departments and agencies. These services may include:
Pre-employment physicals
Department of Transportation (DOT) exams
Fitness-for-duty evaluations
Other occupational health screenings as required by federal contracts
This role requires excellent and expeditious assessment skills. Ideal candidates should have a proven track record of high reliability when working in an independent atmosphere with little oversight.

Job Summary

Perform high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) including anal cytology, HPV collection, and targeted biopsies if indicated
Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests (e.g., cytology, histology, imaging studies, etc.)
Administer or coordinates/order treatments of anal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions and/or condylomas, when indicated. Treatments may include ablation therapy (e.g., hyfrecation), clinician-applied treatments (e.g., trichloroacetic acid), and/or client-applied treatments (e.g., Imiquimod, fluorouracil).
Consult with/or refer clients with abnormal findings such as Anal Cancer when indicated
Perform or order laboratory tests and interpret the results as part of the HRA procedure. Report communicable diseases in a timely manner to the appropriate health department as per health center protocol.
Follows established treatment guidelines as indicated by health center protocols
Conduct health teaching and counseling during the medical encounter as appropriate, enabling the client to make informed choices about health and treatment options
Complete the client's clinical record documentation in a timely manner specific to the applicable policies and procedures of the health center
Participate in quality improvement/assurance activities
Participate in continuing medical education activities to enhance professionalism to ensure the quality of care

Physical Demands:
The assignment will be carried out in a medical clinic setting. There is frequent exposure to contagious diseases. There is some infrequent exposure to unstable and/or hostile patients. Walking and standing is frequent for long periods of time. Some sitting and lifting are required. The incumbent will be required to assist patients who are frail or disabled. Driving will be required between clinics.
Compensation:
$67.31-$76.92 per hour ($140,000-$160,000 annually, depending on experience)
