This position expects the surgical technologist to be an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. Surgical technologists work under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Essential Job Duties Properly responds to, handles and controls emergency and medical situations in a calm professional manner. Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures. Administer first-aid treatment and life-support care to sick or injured persons in pre-hospital setting. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission. At interview must be able to pass a basic math test of 11 word problems missing no more than 4 problems. If the first test is failed, a second will be given with no more than 4 of 10 answers to be missed. Skills/Abilities: Must be able to work directly with the general public. Requires the ability to see details at close range and from a distance. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations. Requires good reading and writing skills.
