Maintains equipment, including checking oil, water, fuel, tires, and hydraulic system, and making appropriate adjustments; Patches, tamps, packs, and levels hot mix, dirt, or other materials during road repair; Smooths road surfaces; Clears ditches and culverts; Installs and repairs culverts; Performs work with hand tools, including digging trenches, cutting down trees and brush, and removing driftwood and debris from culverts; Loads heavy equipment, standard hand tools, and road maintenance materials onto haul truck; Drives trucks to haul materials to and from work sites; Surveys roads for potential hazards; May dispose of animal carcasses; and May direct traffic at work sites as needed; secures appropriate hazardous warning signs: Secures appropriate hazardous warning signs.
