Install the proper bearing spacers, work coil and impeder rod required during changeovers. Make adjustments to sizing section driven stand rolls and side pass rolls to properly size tubing. Perform dimensional and visual inspections of product to ensure quality of product. Operate end welding machine and hand-held torch. Verify correct raw materials are utilized. Use and read precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, Vernier calipers, tape measures). Visually inspect tubing for quality defects and reject non-confirming product. Complete daily inspection reports. Execute and record all production/quality checks. Ensure safe operating conditions. Perform routine and preventative maintenance as needed on equipment. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation Education, Experience & Qualifications: · 5+ years of experience with earthwork and civil construction · Willingness to learn and follow all safety policies and requirements · This position requires climbing, kneeling, bending and crawling often as well as the ability to work on ladders, platforms and mechanical lifts · Must be able to understand English · Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs Will be required to join the local union Travel: Travel may be required for this position as the employee must be willing to travel to surrounding job sites. F&B will compensate a per diem for travel and overnight stay if applicable. Work Environment: As an Operator, you will be subject to various work environments. Environments include but are not limited to the following: high/low temperatures, areas close to traffic, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, heights, indoor/outdoor settings.
