The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include haul & water trucks, front-end loaders, telehandler forklifts, skid steers, and excavators; screening, crushing, and material conveying systems; street sweepers; and other heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his/her equipment.
**Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):**
+ Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
+ Provide guidance and serve as a spotter for trucks arriving and departing from the process operations.
+ Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
+ Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.
+ Maintain clean process operations, ensuring that both work area and equipment remain free from clutter, spills and residues. Responsible for ensuring that work area is clean and organized at the end of the shift.
+ Cross-train and fill in for operations staff as needed.
+ Participate in pre-shift and post-shift safety and operational meetings.
+ Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
**Basic Required Qualifications: **
+ 5+ years of experience in soils screening, soil moving, and soil processing operations
