GP's Big Island, VA containerboard mill produces the paper used to make boxes. Half of the production is made from 100% recycle fiber and the other half uses about 25% recycle fiber. Production Operators work a 12 hour rotational shift schedule, and will work both days (6am to 6pm) and nights (6pm to 6am), with as little as 48 hours between days and night shift. Production Operators work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
This position's starting pay is $23.54/hour (with +$1.08 shift differential for nights) and includes paid time off, potential to earn quarterly bonuses, overtime, healthcare, 401k, and additional benefits!
What You Will Do
Perform operator care duties and minor maintenance tasks to include but not limited to lubrication duties
Work throughout the mill to safely meet production and quality goals
Learn multiple operator functions in power and recovery, shipping and receiving, and paper machine areas
Perform detailed housekeeping to keep machinery functioning properly and to maintain the appearance of the plant
Perform physically demanding tasks that include but are not limited to; using a shovel, rake and water hose
Operate mobile equipment

JOB SUMMARY
The Envelope Adjuster is responsible for the setup and operation of W+D 527 and/or W+D 627 and/or W+D 102 printing & converters. The adjuster will also be able to independently perform job changes, including window and size changes. The Envelope Adjuster is responsible for shift guidance of Envelope Converting Operators and is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of equipment and work area.
The Adjuster will have the knowledge or be willing to be trained in the principle of Flexographic printing on both belly and central impression printing units.
The Envelope Adjuster is responsible for effectively meeting production goals to satisfy the demands of our clients and intra-company departments while upholding the highest level of quality and commitment to Innovairre. He or she must strictly follow all health and safety rules and procedures, which includes wearing personal protective equipment (hearing/eye protection, etc.) as required.
Sets up converting equipment in a variety of configurations to meet work order specifications.
Performs quality inspections to ensure accurate measurements of envelope, window, and flap dimensions.
Works with and trains Envelope Converting Machine Operators in skills necessary to perform efficiently.
Performs preventive maintenance.
Maintains adequate levels of glue, ink, window film, etc.
Notifies the Supervisor and Quality Control if there is a quality problem.
Understands or desire to learn Flexographic printing.
Fills out production reports including information such as name, date, job number, activity codes, etc., that are to be turned in at the end of the shift.
Informs Supervisor on inventory issues related to materials.
Works safely to prevent accidents by keeping the area clean and free of any trip hazards (such as straps or hoses), following proper lifting techniques, and keeping all aisles clear.
Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.

Job Purpose
The Operator at AkzoNobel will execute assigned production tasks in accordance with procedures, to ensure right levels of HSE, Quality, Service and costs.
Key Responsibilities
Takes ownership of production assets and ensures they are operated safely and as per established procedures, guidelines and industry good practice.
Performs daily production-, preventative maintenance-, process data collection and administration tasks as per procedures and control systems.
Reports safety, quality or other issues related to products or production processes to Team Leader / Shift Supervisor.
Ensures all (shift team) production targets are met whilst ensuring the appropriate quality standards are maintained.
Issues CAR, respectively Hazard report when any relevant issue is noticed, regardless location or responsible department.
Provides progress updates to the Team Leader / Shift Supervisor.
Attends and contributes to meetings.
Contributes to the investigation of HSE or quality issues for eg: customer complaints, reject batches or other quality related issues.
Participates in Continuous Improvement activities & programs for HSE, Quality, or other as may be assigned from time to time. Contributes to colour adjustment activities, where applicable, in line with agreed procedures and control systems.
Is familiar and complies with all the applicable corporate as well as site and laboratory policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct, HSE and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) standards.
Key Activities
Transfer completed products into containers of various sizes and types (1 qt cans to tankers). Identify and apply the correct information on the containers and or proper documents while following all fill off and safety procedures
Fill off approved batches ranging from 1 gallon to 5000 gallons into the proper shipping containers
Measure the amount of product into the correct container for proper yield, by weighing and/or measuring the weight of the material in the containers with the tools provided
Once containers are filled and all openings are closed and tightened, check for leaks around the ring, bungs, and chimes
Properly complete the batch ticket as instructed, label all containers, and number them in the sequence they were filled off
Once the batch ticket has been approved and signed by the supervisor, send the containers to the shipping department along with the batch ticket
Properly dispose of filters; wash out the pump; wash the tanks, filter housing, and hoses with the appropriate cleansing material
Properly label and stage all cleaning material in proper areas
Properly label and stencil all containers to satisfy customer and shipment requirements
Perform area housekeeping duties per expectations
Other duties as needed to complete production process
Job Requirements
Prior Manufacturing experience desired and Prior experience working in a paint manufacturing facility preferred!

Job Description:
• Operates trucks, tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders, mowers, snowplows and other equipment related to preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Responds to emergency situations as needed during and after hours to include snow and ice removal
• Apply herbicides, insecticide, and fertilizers to the turf, yards, fields, and plants (certifications required with this position)
