Position Summary:

What you'll do on a typical day:

What you need to succeed at GXO:

SUMMARY

Perform various required duties to assemble and load miscellaneous items, material and products for shipment, as receive numerous materials and goods, and crate and pack materials following established practices and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards.
* Works from prioritized work orders, shipping and receiving documents, written and verbal orders and instructions
* Uses fork lift trucks, overhead cranes, electric material movers, hand trucks, manual material movers, scales, strapping equipment, tape machine and miscellaneous air and hand tools
* Procures and completes requested orders from all departments and transport to shipping area
* Inspects cartons and crate for obvious damage and report to supervisor
* Loads dropped trailers and common carrier to allow for sequential delivery of products
* Weighs and records product weights; marks on appropriate documents and maintains required records
* Affixes all required stickers for shipments and mark crates and cartons accordingly
* Packages items and/or products to complete shipments, as required
* Receives numerous items for production, tool room, corporate offices and other area, such as returned or damaged goods, production materials, tools, information, catalogs, etc.
* Assures counts and condition of materials and items, notes discrepancies
* Delivers goods and items to appropriate party or place in designated area
* Performs daily PM maintenance checks on lift trucks and related equipment
* Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested
Position Requirements:
The Shipper/ Receiver must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:
* High School Graduate preferred
* Prior manufacturing experience a plus
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to read and write and follow written and verbal work orders
* Ability to read a measuring tape and production instruments
* Ability to drive a fork lift
* Capability of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
* Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds intermittently in a team lift situation
* Ability to do repetitive bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, twisting, pushing and pulling

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Warehouse Experience
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
The ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment - continuously lifting and moving 50 to 75lbs
The ability to meet fast-paced productivity goals and standards in a very large, high volume DC
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, with overtime, including weekends and holidays
Timely and regular attendance
Required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Reliable transportation to and from work
