The Materials Handler is responsible for controlling all materials in the Fabrication area, including loading/unloading, storing and delivering to using Work Centers also keeping accurate counts at all stages of the process including cycle counting and maintaining accurate inventory data.
Responsibilities
Load/unload materials from trucks
Perform all material counts, including cycle counting as suggested by Visual Manufacturing.
Kit and deliver materials to machines and workstations, as needed. Highlight eventual shortages on Pick Lists and bring them up to the supervisor's attention for immediate resolution.
Move materials between operations on a timely manner.
Assist in placement and delivery of fixtures
Monitor and report material usage variances.
Track and report on drop-off material availability.
Package materials for inter-company transfer
Maintain a neat and controlled warehouse, maintaining bin assignment labeling, minimum floor stationary inventory and constant overall cleanliness.
Requirements
Equivalent to a High School Diploma and three (3) years experience in a warehouse or customer service environment. Must have ability to work independently, together with good organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of Shop Floor Control or similar operations planning tools is preferred. Must be able to read blue prints to determine part ID and/or material requirements. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and be qualified to drive a forklift.
