The hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Material Handler drives and inspects liquefied gas or electric powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices (forklift forks) to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials for receiving, factory service, and scrap operations. Responsibilities of the position include: Checks assigned forklift at beginning of shift to ensure unit is functional; maneuvers forklift as designed. Empties all full scrap containers in assigned areas and disposes of materials using cardboard compactor, open top, and trash compactor. Stacks or restacks product pallets. Moves all damaged pallets to pallet trailer. Maintains counts and documentation. Stages scrap material. Loads scrap trailers and trucks as needed. Stages scrap appliance load and maintains log. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Performs other miscellaneous related duties as required.
