We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Sorter to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 675 Los Esteros Road, San Jose, CA. Position Summary: GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Sorter to provide support to one or more facilities. This role's main function includes performing various tasks to aid daily operations at the C&D facilities. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Ability to stand and collect material for extended periods of time utilizing both hands with good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Handle and transport materials (e.g., wood, cement) and equipment (e.g., drills and grinders) Ability to follow directions and safety procedures and protocols. Be able to work in close proximity to others while sorting material from either side of the conveyor belt. Perform various duties, such as litter control around the sites / nearby roads, general cleaning of work areas, and assist with various onsite projects. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on plants and throughout the facility as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ability to distinguish between commodities with ease in order to separate the material properly. The work habits to have include reliable transportation, being punctual, and being reliable in order to minimize disruptions to the day-to-day operations. The ability to work as a team and work well with others. Qualifications: Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. Language Skill: Proficiency in English and/or Spanish Physical Demands: Make sure to list the physical demands, such as push, pull, standing Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 75 lbs. Constant bending and twisting Frequent standing, walking and semi-frequent sitting Constant climbing in and out of equipment to grab carts Work Environment: Typical work week is Monday through Friday.
