This is the trainee level class in the Firefighter series, responsible for becoming proficient in the understanding of lifesaving and firefighting methods within the SJFD. Through a specific program comprised of general and specialized education, focused training including extensive hands-on experience, Firefighter Recruits will learn diverse tasks, policies, procedures and standards within the SJFD. Incumbents will learn techniques in emergency medical services, rescue work, firefighting and other emergency services. Salary/Rate Details:The base range for this position is $18.50 - $21.00 per hour. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown. What you'll be doing:
As an EMT-B, you will function within the scope of each county's clinical and operational protocols, as well as abide by all of Royals processes, policies, quality standards and expectations of quality patient care and exceptional customer service.
Provide basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, and use of the automatic defibrillator and assist patients dependent on the situation.
Understand, address and resolve patient/customer needs to ensure the most appropriate treatment and/or course of action
Provide support, comfort, understanding and compassionate care to your patients and their family members, who are feeling scared, anxious and vulnerable.
Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury and establish priority for required emergency care and transport.
Remain calm while working in difficult and stressful situations, and stay focused while carrying out the functions of the position to the best of your ability

Medcor is looking to hire an EMT, Paramedic, or LVN on a PRN basis (as needed) to be an Onsite Health Technician at our occupational health clinic located at a foods manufacturing facility in Hayward, CA. This clinic's operating hours are 10:00am - 7:00pm Monday - Friday.
