Other duties include performing a broad range of technical support functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. This position is eligible for a $3.00 per hour float differential to be paid on hours worked. Travel will be between Samaritan Hospital Pharmacy sites in the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon Coast.

Position Highlights:

What You'll Do:
Enters patient data in the system including patient name, insurance, allergies, doctor and diagnosis. Enters the prescription in the system, selecting the brand, product/drug, and appropriate strength to align with the instructions given by the prescribing Provider.
Fills or dispenses the product from the pharmacy stock and delivers to patient.
Processes prescription refills verifying refill availability.
Maintains awareness of stock level and enters order for restocking based on defined minimum inventory levels. Verifies quantity and submits order to the Wholesaler.
Verifies product orders received with invoice and purchase order. Places a sticker on each item and places on the shelf.
Monitors and checks expiration dates on drugs in stock and prepares expired stock for return to Wholesaler. Processes credit invoices associated with the returns.
Returns or discards dispensed prescription to stock if not picked up by patient in 30 days. Enters information in the system for reverse billing.
Completes third party billing form and contacts Provider if prior authorization is required.
Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and YVFWC requirements.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
One year's experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
Pharmacy Technician license for states of practice. Alternatively, may have an active Pharmacy Intern License for the states of practice.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at level 9.
Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of Company asset protection techniques, and files claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required; assists pharmacy staff in coordination of clinical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
Assists Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities.
Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.

Qualifications

Location: Managed Healthcare Pharmacy - 1750 Willow Creek Circle, Eugene, OR 97402
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 6:00 pm
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Requirement: Active Oregon State Pharmacy Technician License
Provide excellent customer service to the facilities in taking orders, answering questions, referring information and phone calls to the appropriate departments.

Essential Job Functions (include the following):
• Answering phone calls from facilities in a timely manner while being professional and courteous
• Creating telephone order for refills, new orders, and/or backup and triaging into the appropriate queues for Order Entry staff to complete.
• Refill orders in pharmacy computer system if facility calls and request (if not complicated)
• Follow up with customers as needed (if you told a customer you would return their phone call, call them back in a timely manner)
• Answering facility questions or referring them to the proper resource for answer
• Take Credit Card information over the phone for payments
• Work with Medical Records to update on resident information, or anything else that is changed. Make telephone orders for medical records and send to appropriate queues for medical records.
• Take orders from Doctor's offices and triaging to appropriate queues.
• Check assigned facility faxes daily; any issues, contact Order Entry
• Link delivery sheets into Docutrack.
• Check original prescriptions sent in tote or by mail, scan into Docutrack and link. If they haven't been completed leave note for OE to address.
• Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
Education and/or Certifications:
• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB), preferred
Skills and Qualifications:
• 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience)
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
• Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
• Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
