The Mechanic diagnoses and repairs diesel tractors, trailers and other wheeled vehicles by performing the following duties.
Job Responsibilities
Examines and diagnoses vehicle problems, and repairs according to generally accepted methods
Discusses extensive or difficult in-depth repairs with Terminal Manager, and/or Supervisor
Demonstrate and enforces CEMEX safety policies and regulations to all mechanics (i.e. lockout tagout policies, hazard assessment)
Make sure shop and all repairs are in compliance with OSHA regulations
Performs routine scheduled maintenance outlined on PM checklist sheets
Plans all routine work procedures
Raises vehicle, with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical components for removal, repair or inspection
Removes components for repair of replacement such as, but not limited to: alternators, starters, water pumps, radiators, condensers, compressors, clutches, transmissions, differentials, wheel assemblies, brakes, drivelines, gearboxes, pump, rollers, etc.
Disassembles components, inspects parts for wear, and determines cause of failure
Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems, and components
Inspects and replaces parts such as clutches, wheel seals, brake linings, drums, bearings, and all other components as described above
Overhauls and rebuilds serviceable components
Some regional traveling required to repair company equipment
Diagnoses and repairs electrical systems and circuitry in accordance with acceptable industry standards
Performs occasional cutting and welding utilizing both gas and electric welding equipment
Replaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wiper blades
Enters work orders on system for equipment inventory purposes
Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
Meet or exceed company safety standards
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Summary
The Facility Operator program (FOP) Learning will be varied based on in-person classroom instruction, computer based training, and hands-on training while under the supervision of a dedicated field trainer and/or shift supervisor. You will gain foundational knowledge and skills on Waste to Energy processes, system layouts, component descriptions, system cross-functionality, and required theoretical knowledge. You will continue to build your skills and experience as you graduate into your permanent Auxiliary Operator (AO) role.
After successfully completing the first segment of in-classroom training, you will be assigned to a qualified control room operator, shift supervisor, or trainer, to allow you to perform on the job training ( i.e. watch station tasks) and obtain hands-on experience in the field with operation and inspection of various power plant systems including boilers and associated equipment for a waste processing and generation facility operating 24-hours per day, 7-days per week to improve plant preservation.
What your post FOP graduation journey will look like:
In your first three to four months at Reworld, you will be hands-on, supporting minimum plantoperations and maintenance functions, testing and inspection requirements and adherence to required safety standards. This will include routine daily rounds and logs as part of the operator's standard work.
Throughout your next six months at Reworld, you will actively participate in annual/semiannual critical asset operations and maintenance programs during which National Code and Company Technical Standard functional testing is conducted. Through these important evolutions, you will participate in controlled shutdown and startups of critical assets applying your technical training. You will also learn lean tools and methods of effective problem-solving (PSR) and participate in daily leadership to escalate concerns.

Purpose of Job
The purpose of this job is to perform general/technical work functions associated with operating the water treatment plant and to ensure a continuous, adequate supply of potable drinking water meeting federal/state regulations. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: analyzing and treating water; mixing chemicals; performing laboratory tests; operating various pumps and valves; repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment; maintaining records; and performing additional tasks as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE: Sunday - Saturday, 40 hours per week. Shifts rotate every eight weeks. Holidays and weekends per shift schedule and subject to call back 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Operates and maintains dual media filters.

Performs bacteriological tests.
Performs pH, chlorine, fluoride, iron, manganese, turbidity, and other tests to control quality.
Monitors and controls the addition of chemicals to the water supply.

Monitors and maintains proper levels for all chemical tanks and containers.
Performs inspections of plantoperations for safety, maintenance and proper process operations.
Repairs and maintains machines, equipment, pumps, and electrical equipment.

This position is also recognized as the entry-level position that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate water pumping mechanisms to regulate the flow and pressure of water during assigned shifts to include:
Operate pumps, valves, turbines, and electric motors to transfer, distribute, and regulate pressure flow of raw and processed water
Monitor panel boards and adjusts controls to regulate flow and distribution of water
Clean systems by backwashing at designated intervals
Record reservoir water elevation, power consumption, and equipment utilization data at designated intervals
Conduct water treatment activities to include:
Add appropriate amounts of chemicals to raw water to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water at regular intervals
Regulate flow of pre-treated water through sedimentation and filter devices
Add appropriate amounts of chemicals into water for post-treatment
Record chemical composition of raw and treated water at designated intervals
Maintain, clean and stock materials on trucks and equipment. Housekeeping duties to include: Cutting grass, cleaning tanks, sweeping & mopping floors, cleaning equipment and various other duties to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the facility
Calibrate all meters that they will be required to utilize through the course of the shift
Collect samples and performs various tests such as pH and CL2 residual; analyzes results and makes process control changes based as instructed by their immediate supervisor
Document readings, test results, equipment adjustments and enter data into a computer database and on paper for record maintenance and to produce periodic and special reports
Monitor and observe treatment process for offensive matter; inspects equipment and monitors operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect problems
Transfer various chemicals from one container to the other. Make chemical feed adjustments as necessary
Change chlorine cylinders and checks for leaks. Also, adjust feed rate as required. Transport, handle and mix chemicals manually as required.
Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies
QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer high school diploma or GED, or specialized vocational training in chemistry, or a closely related field. Water treatment operations experience and minimum certifications preferred. Must have a valid state driver's license and meet minimum driving standards.
