Summary/Objective:
The PlantOperator oversees and ensures the efficient and productive operations of the assigned Concrete Batch Plant. The PlantOperator may float from plant to plant if not assigned to a specific location.
Essential Functions:
Assume all responsibilities of the Yard Operator in their absence.
Oversee all plantoperations and coordinate and monitor daily workload throughout the plant, in addition to monitoring plant cleanliness.
Oversee all drivers, operators, and other personnel at the plant. Respond in a timely manner to all employee concerns and/or complaints and escalate concerns and disciplinary action to the Area Production Manager as necessary..
Coordinate scheduling with Dispatch and monitor driver activity to ensure customer needs are being met in an efficient manner.
Respond to all complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
Maintain adequate levels of all supplies and products (i.e., fuel, cement, admixtures, fiber mesh, etc.) and maintain accurate and current reports as required.
Ensure that the concrete plant and related equipment are operating properly at all times by inspecting the plant for greasing, checking oil fluid levels, adding grease and oil as required, and keeping plant and equipment clean and free of excess material.
Maintain proper levels of aggregates and admixtures, including keeping the hoppers full of aggregates. Notify the Area Production Manager of impending shortages in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with company safety regulations and all company environmental regulations and notify personnel immediately of any potential problems.
Take samples and perform tests as necessary and complete required documentation/reports. Inform Technical Services of any quality problems that need resolving.
Keep equipment and plant site clean at all times by washing the outside of the plant and equipment whenever necessary, maintaining plant grounding, picking up trash and other items from grounds, and making sure that all equipment is in its proper place.
Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
Perform all pre and post-trip inspections and complete daily inspection reports.
Follow all environmental regulations and clean up any excess material that could cause environmental problems.
Perform miscellaneous duties and outside labor as requested, which may include, but not limited to, cleaning up around the plant, sweeping, shoveling, moving wheelbarrows, picking up equipment or supplies.
Non-Essential Functions:
Assist with the clean-up of concrete and material spills.
Fill in for colleagues (at other locations) as needed.

Sit 4 hours per day, walk 3 hours per day, stand 2 hours per day, and climb or kneel the other 1 hour per day.

Position Summary
We are hiring for a Lead PlantOperator with experience to work on our Renewable Power team. This position reports to the Area Manager and is located in Henrico, VA. The Lead PlantOperator is responsible for the direction and supervision of all day-to-day activities in a reciprocating engine landfill gas power generation facility. This position shares accountability of the day-to-day operations of the site and will lead a team of four other operators with the goals of maximizing production and minimizing downtime with the utmost regard to safety, cleanliness, and environmental compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
* This position will be responsible for operating, adjusting, and repairing equipment required to maximize gas plant production in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
* Operate, monitor, and maintain large reciprocating gas engines (Caterpillar 3500 series gensets) and associated auxiliary equipment.
* Maintain detailed records on production data, equipment operational hours, and service schedules and equipment outages.
* Check all operating equipment daily including flow meters, gas chromatographs, fluid levels, pressure and temperature readings, and unusual noises to correct conditions before failure occurs.
* Perform all maintenance and repairs on the operating equipment including oil and filter changes, replacement and repair of valves, blowers, compressors, and other plant equipment, as necessary. Participate in preventative maintenance outages and overhauls.
* Maintain a high level of cleanliness in and around the plant. Keep oil from accumulating on the unit skids, floors, and soil around the plant. Keep weeds and shrubs cleaned from the plant yard and perimeter fence. Keep equipment and floors looking as presentable as possible.
* Keep all on-site parts and supplies stocked and well organized. Maintain plant inventory.
* Respond to call outs in a timely manner. Identify and correct the cause of the call out. If the problem cannot be corrected or diagnosed, it is the responsibility of the operator to contact the plant manager to get the help required to fix the situation.
* Operate the plant with a clear focus on safety. Clean up spills immediately. Operate, monitor, and maintain large reciprocating gas engines (Caterpillar 3500 series gensets) and associated auxiliary equipment.
Maintain detailed records on production data, equipment operational hours, and service schedules and equipment outages.
Check all operating equipment daily including flow meters, gas chromatographs, fluid levels, pressure and temperature readings, and unusual noises to correct conditions before failure occurs.
Perform all maintenance and repairs on the operating equipment including oil and filter changes, replacement and repair of valves, blowers, compressors, and other plant equipment, as necessary. Participate in preventative maintenance outages and overhauls.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness in and around the plant. Keep oil from accumulating on the unit skids, floors, and soil around the plant. Keep weeds and shrubs cleaned from the plant yard and perimeter fence. Keep equipment and floors looking as presentable as possible.
Keep all on-site parts and supplies stocked and well organized. Maintain plant inventory.
Respond to call outs in a timely manner. Identify and correct the cause of the call out. If the problem cannot be corrected or diagnosed, it is the responsibility of the operator to contact the plant manager to get the help required to fix the situation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview
The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Water-Wastewater Operator I.. This role is under direct supervision, performs routine tasks related to the operation of water and/or wastewater treatment facilities. Assists with maintaining plant compliance with EPA standards and state water Commission. Performs general cleaning of grounds and buildings. Ensures plant safety and sanitary requirements.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will travel between service areas near Corolla, NC. Schedule is Monday through Friday. After-hour and weekend on-call support may be required
What You'll Do
* Operate and maintain water and/or wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits. and adherence to Company policies and standards.
* Conduct ongoing repairs to equipment or shut down equipment for more extensive maintenance and repair, activating alternate equipment as needed. Requests services of outside maintenance vendor for major repairs and overhauls.
* Assist Lead Operator with emergency procedures in the event of overflow or spill of chemicals or unpurified water. Follows safety protocol.
* Prepare reports and maintain logs on meter readings, tests, chemical and equipment usage, and all other recordkeeping requirements; maintains various Company records and other reports as required by the state.
* Clean and maintain treatment plant, pumping stations and wells; prepare and paint equipment, walls, and floors.
* Maintain a safe working environment and report safety concerns to Area Manager.
* Complete facility and vehicle inspections, along with related follow-up.
* Forward customer inquiries on to Operator II or Lead Operator.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
Experience
* Requires at least 2 years of mechanical work experience
Education and Certification
* High school Diploma and the ability to attain First-Level operator license per state regulation within 1 year of employment; may be in the process of obtaining second-level license; must maintain a valid driver's license.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Waterworks Class III Operato r, work involves monitoring and maintaining water treatment processes under the direction of senior operators at either of two water treatment plants. This position will be responsible for monitoring the distribution and sewer collection systems and making adjustments in accordance with current operational guidelines. Performs routine laboratory tests and interprets results. As a Waterworks Class III Licensed Operator progressing to a Class II licensed Operator, this position will be responsible for monitoring the water treatment plant, including operation of chemical and physical process. This position will be responsible for running laboratory tests at either of two water treatment plants and capable of analyzing test results and plant equipment operation; adjust chemical or physical operation as required. Calibrate plant equipment to standards to ensure accurate measurement of water treatment processes.
