Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows:
GS-9: $61,111 - $124,443 per year
Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary.
Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, generous annual and sick leave, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan.
LOCATION INCENTIVES: If you accept one of the duty locations listed below, you may be eligible to receive an additional 15%-25% of your salary each year for the first three (3) years of employment in addition to any overtime pay. Some locations may offer 25% for four (4) years.
Duty locations offering 25% recruitment incentives: Otay Mesa, San Francisco, San Ysidro, and Tecate, CA; Key West, FL; etc.

Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
Enforcing laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping.
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats.
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity.
Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR
Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of specialized experience AND successfully completed graduate-level education.

If applicants pass the Frontline National Exam (Civil Service Exam), they may be invited to complete a Physical Assessment Test (PAT), which is a 1.5 mile run in 16 minutes or less, complete at least 15 push-ups in one minute, and complete at least 25 sit-ups in one minute. Prior to taking the PAT, each applicant will be required to produce a completed PAT waiver. The waiver will be emailed to applicants at an appropriate time. The applicant will be required to complete a physical examination and an EKG by a physician of their choice.
The physician will complete and sign the last page of the waiver, attesting to the fact that they have reviewed the applicant's health history, performed a physical examination, conducted an EKG, effectively clearing the applicant for participation in the above described physical assessment test. In addition to the PAT, select candidates will also be required to successfully complete a Civil Service Exam (Frontline National Exam via NTN or Frontline National Exam on-site in Orlando in an exam coordinated by OPD as described above), interviews, polygraph exams, a background investigation, a psychological exam and a medical exam. Note: Applicants reaching the latter stages of the selection process will have their fingerprints taken for background check purposes. Fingerprints submitted by applicants will be retained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as part of the National Rap Back Service.

WHAT IS AN FWC DUTY OFFICER?

Duties and Responsibilities

Other Requirements
Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION
* Police Work:
* Performs all the essential duties of a Police Officer. Responds to all major scenes or incidents; assumes and retains commands at major situations unless otherwise directed; coordinates with other agencies; making proper notifications, as necessary. Provides backup assistance to zone officers and handles calls for service when other units are unavailable.
* Patrolling:
* Patrol (foot and vehicle) assigned area(s) to ensure personal safety of the university community and the protection and safety of University facilities.
* Emergency Response:
* Responds to incidents, accidents, alarms, dispatched calls, and emergencies, and decides what actions to take based upon the situation. Evaluates emergencies using Incident Command System (ICS) principles, providing first aid, and alerting additional police or emergency personnel as appropriate.
* Crowd Control:
* Manages crowd control and surveillance in emergencies such as but not limited to: bomb threats, building lockdowns, active shooter incidents, and fire and emergency situations. Aids traffic and security control during athletic and other special events as necessary.
* Special Assignments:
* Participates in special assignments including surveillance and intelligence gathering as determined by crime trends and/or as directed by university officials.
* The Police Officer may perform other related duties and tasks as required or directed, and shall have the physical, mental, and emotional abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position.

If applicants pass the Frontline National Exam (Civil Service Exam), they may be invited to complete a Physical Assessment Test (PAT), which is a 1.5 mile run in 16 minutes or less, complete at least 15 push-ups in one minute, and complete at least 25 sit-ups in one minute. Prior to taking the PAT, each applicant will be required to produce a completed PAT waiver. The waiver will be emailed to applicants at an appropriate time. The applicant will be required to complete a physical examination and an EKG by a physician of their choice.
The physician will complete and sign the last page of the waiver, attesting to the fact that they have reviewed the applicant's health history, performed a physical examination, conducted an EKG, effectively clearing the applicant for participation in the above described physical assessment test. In addition to the PAT, select candidates will also be required to successfully complete a Civil Service Exam (Frontline National Exam via NTN or Frontline National Exam on-site in Orlando in an exam coordinated by OPD as described above), interviews, polygraph exams, a background investigation, a psychological exam and a medical exam. Role Summary
The Courtesy Patrol Officer is responsible to observe and report all incidents that occur on their property or properties they are assigned. CPO's are also responsible for enforcing all property rules and regulations and up channel all concerns to either property management and/or Law Enforcement as necessary for the overall safety and security of all residents and property.
Responsibilities
Observe and report property activity, utilize incident report to document use of force, law enforcement activity, guest injury, and property damage
Maintain a daily activity report which documents patrol, guest communication, property violations, safety concerns, light survey, vacancy inspections, and additional information
Receive calls from management related to changes in operations, service, or general communication
Sweep, mop or vacuum floors on an ongoing basis
Read and follow all security procedures and protocols at all times
Attend all required continued training
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Able to obtain a valid security license in applicable jurisdictions
Able to obtain a security belt, handcuffs, flashlight, and pepper spray
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years' experience in security strongly preferred
Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines
