What a Typical Day Could Look Like
As a Porter, you are responsible for helping the community look vibrant, clean, and welcoming for current and future residents.
You are the Champion of Community Appearance!
You will ensure that all community grounds, tour pathways, breezeways, stairwells, parking lots, amenity areas, and dumpster areas are clean and free of debris.
You may help with the make-ready process of the apartment homes by removing trash, painting, cleaning, etc.
You will assist in routine community inspections and complete groundskeeping, landscaping, exterior painting and repairs, irrigation tasks, and pool upkeep tasks as directed by the Service Manager.

Operate a leaf blower or parking lot vacuum to ensure that the property is free of debris.
Empty trash cans and move/clean trash dumpsters and surrounding areas as often as necessary.
Assist with pond, fountain, and/or pool cleaning and maintenance.
Assist with hazardous weather problems, fires, floods, freezes, snow removal, etc.
Assist in moving appliances, heat pumps, planters, garbage cans, parking blocks, abandoned furniture, and supplies as needed.
Clean pool area to include chairs, tables, and umbrellas.
Clean all amenity areas.
Complete assigned service requests & repairs in a timely and correct manner.
Assist with cleaning of vacant units and other make-ready work orders for move-ins when needed or as directed.
Be familiar with, understand, and apply safety policies and procedures for the property.
Be familiar and maintain compliance with ADA, OSHA, and other regulations affecting the maintenance of the property.
Be familiar with equipment operation in a safe manner.
Pick up dog waste and keep pet stations stocked and monitored.
Clean up cigarette butts.
Perform all duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Will need to be on your feet for long periods of time.

Bending/stooping/squatting/kneeling: Perform routine maintenance/repair duties such as picking up debris.
Climb stairs: Routine duties require access to upper-floor apartments and interior apartments with multiple levels. Will need to climb and work off a ladder.
Push, pull, or lift: Move equipment, appliances, and open/close doors, wheelbarrows, dollies, buckets, etc.
Reach above shoulders: Perform routine maintenance repairs, paint, stock, and remove equipment, furniture, etc.
Grasp/grip/turning and finger dexterity: Handle maintenance tools/equipment (hand and power tools), nails, and open/close ladders, perform routine maintenance/repairs, use phone or 2-way radio.

Working Environment:
Constantly outdoors/indoors, in all weather conditions, often for extended periods of time, and in weather conditions that may make the environment uncomfortable (hot in summer, cold in winter).

* Empty outdoor pet waste bins and replace boxes of waste bags as needed.
* Sweep out dumpster/compactor enclosures on days that they have been emptied.
* Sweep and/or mop hard-surface floors. Apply sealants or polish as directed.
* Sweep/vacuum entry rugs [at every entrance] and outdoor carpeting.
* Skim outdoor fountain(s) daily and clean as assigned.
* Keep outdoor furniture and seating areas clean and orderly. If pieces of furniture have been moved to other areas, return to their proper location. Clear cobwebs or insect nests/hives as needed.
* Clean outdoor grills after each use.
* Keep workshop clean and empty trash daily.
* Trim, fertilize and/or chemically treat plants as assigned, e.g. fertilize flowering plants, cut back overgrown vines, etc.
* Assist landscaping service workers when on site.

Job Description
This position is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in each guest room. Guest Room Attendants refresh rooms for guests who are continuing their stay, as well as, thoroughly clean rooms of guests who have checked out in preparation for the next guest checking in.

Thoroughly clean guest rooms including: making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and dusting
Restock and replace used items within guest rooms
Communicate clean status of each room upon completion
Remove room service trays and tables from guest rooms
Stock supply cart and ensure that it is neat and well organized at all times
Check all equipment prior to and after use to ensure that it is in good working order
Respond to all hotel guests efficiently and in an appropriately friendly manner
Reports and damages and/or maintenance problems to the Supervisor, the PBX operator or to the Housekeeping Coordinator
Qualifications
Basic English skills are required (must be able to answer basic questions about services and amenities, give directions to guests)
Previous cleaning experience required

Ability to stand, bend and do repetitive movements for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 20-25 pounds intermittently, and occasionally 50 pounds
