DSU is seeking to hire a Custodian. Under general supervision, the Custodian performs a variety of custodial services both individually and with other Custodial Services staff in residence halls, academic and/or administrative facilities as assigned. The position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the day-to-day cleanliness and attractiveness of university facilities, surrounding building areas, and set-up for activities. The specific duties, tasks or combinations of tasks may vary according to the assigned facility(s); facility assignments may change to meet the needs of the department. Current areas of need include Klinefelter Hall. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and as such will have varying hours. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position will be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours including assigned weekends. This position reports to the Custodial Services Coordinator. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: * Directly related work experience or a HS Diploma or GED * Physically able to stand, walk, use hands dexterously, lift and carry up to 10 pounds, most of the time working.
