EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university, focus on reading, English, or related field preferred

EXPERIENCE:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Strategies
1. Develop and implement reading interventions that are tailored to the specific needs of at-risk elementary school students, utilizing research-based strategies and resources.
2. Collaborate with reading teachers and content-area teams to ensure that interventions align with classroom instructional and support the overall goals of the elementary school reading curriculum.
3. Administer and analyze diagnostic assessments and progress monitoring data to identify students in need of intervention and track their progress towards grade-level proficiency in elementary school reading.
4. Provide ongoing feedback and support to students, parents, and teachers regarding reading progress and strategies for improvement.
5. Attend professional development and training sessions focused on elementary school reading instruction and intervention strategies.
6. Maintain accurate records and documentation of reading interventions, student progress, and communication with parents and teachers.
7. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's reading progress and provide resources and support for at-home reading practice.
8. Collaborate with other intervention teachers and district leaders to align reading interventions, data protocols, and instructional approaches across elementary schools and grade levels.
9. Participate in school-wide events and functions as required, such as parent-teacher conferences, committee and staff meetings.
