Position Responsibilities:

Research, Author, and Coordinate Advisory Memos, Change Documents (CD), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) in support of fleet issue corrections, repairs, and product improvement redesigns
Perform timely root cause corrective action (RCCA) for engineering issues to improve fleet availability and first time quality of future part purchases
Provide technical input to work products including SOW and proposal development, change incorporation, and obsolescence
Ensure the technical correctness of solutions being offered and implemented

The Plant Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the engineering aspects of plant operations to ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and productivity. This role involves managing equipment maintenance, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Work with quality assurance in facility to ensure all equipment meets QA and USDA guidelines for food safety.
Monitor and control downtime; provide solutions to reduce downtime.
Ensure all company and safety policies and procedures are enforced and followed.
Complete reports and other paperwork (e.g. discipline, progress evaluations, terminations).
Ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.
Maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
Promote and drive succession development with areas of responsibility.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior supervisory experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork or poultry facility.

Experience in utilizing computerized maintenance management systems to deploy maintenance strategies.

Ability to communicate well (verbal and written) with all levels of employees from hourly to upper management.
Ability to identify and address safety hazards; promote safety on a daily basis.
Ability to lead by example, encourage teamwork and learning, and motivate the hourly workforce.
Must have a high math aptitude; be assertive; and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of machining processes (CNC, EDM, milling, turning) and shop floor troubleshooting. Additive manufacturing experience a plus.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software; capable of designing tooling and fixtures.
Demonstrated experience with Mfg. NPD, DFM principles, GD&T, and reading complex prints and models.
Working knowledge of quality systems, ISO 13485, and FDA regulations, 21 CFR 820.

Position overview

* Provide technical support and expertise for process control in both batch and continuous chemical manufacturing.
* Develop cost estimates, schedules, capital budgets, cash flow projections, and financial documentation to support capital projects.
* Manage consultants, vendors, and contractors in preparing detailed engineering plans and specifications for the procurement and construction of capital assets.
* Participate in process hazard analyses, process safety reviews, process change authorizations, pre-startup safety reviews, and mechanical hazard analysis studies.
Required skills and experience
* 3-10 years of process control experience in the chemical, manufacturing, or a related industry.
* Experience with Rockwell PLCs and the FactoryTalk system is highly desired.
* Familiarity with manufacturing control systems, including PLCs, variable speed motor drives, HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), sensors, transmitters, instrumentation, PLC logic/programming, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and power distribution.
Qualifications
* BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or in related field.
