Responsibilities
Design and model parts using SolidWorks.
Work directly with suppliers for fabrication, carbon fiber components, tooling, and molds.
Create and approve engineering drawings, implement design changes, and manage change orders.
Oversee supplier progress, review first articles, reconcile discrepancies, and release parts to production.
Ensure timely execution of design and integration to meet project deadlines.

Work alongside one other mechanical engineer, 2-3 electrical technicians, and another electrical engineer who is also being hired. Travel may be necessary towards the end of the year if required.

Job Description
MMI Engineered Solutions is currently seeking a hands-on, results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is critical to supporting post-molding solutions, product launches, and continuous improvement efforts across our manufacturing operations. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, Tooling, and Engineering to ensure safe, efficient, and capable assembly and manufacturing processes.
This position is highly hands-on and floor-focused, requiring direct involvement in assembly processes, equipment build/modification, and launch support. It is not a desk-only engineering role.
Key Responsibilities:
Support quotation development for post-mold tooling, assembly equipment, fixtures, gauges, and manufacturability reviews
Recommend, design, and complete the purchase or build of secondary tooling, fixtures, and assembly equipment
Build, modify, and troubleshoot equipment and fixtures on the manufacturing floor
Ensure production readiness, including capability runs and launch support activities
Develop and support assembly automation, including robotic utilization and integration
Coordinate and support pre-production builds and product launch events
Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings related to product development and manufacturing concerns
Develop and maintain process flows, PFMEAs, control plans, and RPN reduction activities
Create and maintain standard work and work instructions, incorporating supervisor and operator input
Manage manufacturing programs from launch through steady-state production
Track equipment status and resolve open issues related to tooling and assembly equipment
Verify processes align with approved flow charts and process layouts
Develop, complete, and verify preventative maintenance instructions for assembly equipment
Lead launch review meetings and support packaging development, testing, and approval
Investigate engineering change feasibility and support implementation
Work cross-functionally to ensure quality, on-time product delivery
Follow ISO 14001 and TS 16949 requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
Hands-on mechanical and assembly experience strongly preferred
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical documentation
Experience developing manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation
Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and root-cause analysis skills
Leadership mindset with the ability to drive projects and resolve issues
Strong communication skills, including the ability to present in meetings and cross-functional settings
Proficiency with Windows-based systems
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, GD&T, and manufacturing processes
Experience with 2D and 3D CAD preferred (not required)
Excellent time management, organization, and teamwork skills
Work Environment & Expectations:
Manufacturing-floor-focused role with significant hands-on involvement in assembly and equipment
Standing for extended periods in areas that may be hot, noisy, and dusty.
