Will operate and maintain set ups on special purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences, and will give instructions on operating procedures. Requires complete knowledge of machine shop operations as acquired by on-the-job training and experience. Operation responsibility includes but are not limited to verifying blueprints, 1st piece inspections, proper measurements, safety of equipment operator is using, accurate count of parts and proper documentation on job orders. The work is repetitive and subject to processes inspection. Position Duties: Reads job order and blueprint specifications. Set up machinery for jobs to run efficiently with all parts checked to blueprint and job order. Operate machinery efficiently while maintaining 1st piece inspection on all parts, all 1st piece inspections are checked to the job order and blueprint. Working under the guidance of the lead operator the Treattarome operator will perform various duties involved in the production of Treattarome intermediate materials (WIP) and finished products. This includes but is not limited to offloading, preparing, and loading raw materials, start-up and shut down of stills, boiler and cooling units, monitoring and recording still operations, properly storing materials and products, general cleanup using mildly caustic cleaning agents, and providing QC and lab personnel with material and product samples for testin DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Locate and pull product and raw materials in a timely and efficient manner Upon approval of the lead operator, off load raw materials from shipping vehicles. Depending on the mode of transport, offloading will be done by hand, forklift or pumps and hoses. Load product ingredients into blending tanks using hoses and pumps. Prepare raw materials for initial processing. This includes manually loading materials on to conveyer belts, using knifes to cut material and using a forklift to dump drums of material. Move and manipulate ingredient containers as necessary to complete the blend process. This includes moving and lifting 50 pound barrels on a regular basis. Sanitize all blending tanks and equipment using mildly caustic cleaning agents. This includes climbing Use a forklift to transfer raw material from initial processing equipment to staging tanks. Understands and utilizes the Lean & Cellular Manufacturing process for the continuous improvement of product, quality, efficiency, scrap reduction, safety, and ergonomics. Follows all safety rules and has basic understanding of machine operations where applicable. Performs preventive maintenance by keeping machine clean, blown out, and oiled. Wears safety glasses when using air hose to clean out machines. Must understand role in Kanban priority responsibility. Completes required production paperwork and barcode activity accurately. Performs self-inspection of all work and performs own rework as required. Keeps area clean and neat. Must be able to read First Piece canopy packages, Engineering Bulletins or Design Summary packages to familiarize on product. Performs other inherent duties related, but not limited, to the above. Education and Experience Requirements High School diploma or GED Equivalent required Previous sewing experience preferred, but not required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must pass certifications of assigned operations. Must be capable of learning to operate a sewing machine. Must be able to read ruler measurements and possess self-inspection skills. Must be able to read, understand and follow written Standard Operating Procedure Specifications that are written in the English language. Physical Requirements Finger, hand and arm dexterity crucial for sewing canopy parts. Visual acuity necessary for seeing match marks and determine good versus poor stitch quality. Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must have legible handwriting to complete required documentation.
