Ms. Gardiner has served as the Company’s Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer since October 2011 and as Company Secretary since December 2011. Ms. Gardiner has over 25 years of financial and general management experience in the medical device, biotechnology and diagnostics industries. Ms. Gardiner has served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of both private and publicly traded companies: Vermillion, Inc., Lipid Sciences, Inc., and Bend Research, Inc. At Bend Research, Inc., Ms. Gardiner was also a member of the board of directors. Bringing a broad background in financial and strategy management, Ms. Gardiner has been involved in raising over US$200 million in funding for a variety of companies through various mechanisms including an initial public offering, secondary offerings, a reverse merger, and multiple private placements. Most recently Ms. Gardiner served as Chief Financial Officer of Vermillion, Inc. leading the SEC compliance efforts, relisting of the company’s common stock on NASDAQ, and completing an underwritten public offering. Ms. Gardiner has also held various senior management and executive positions at Cardima, Inc. and Comac, Inc. and began her medical industry career in 1988 with Advanced Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (formerly a division of Guidant Corporation). Ms. Gardiner holds a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California.
