The Quality Engineer at RDI will be a key driver of quality standards for our injection molding operations. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, this role is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance processes. The successful candidate will resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements, focusing on improving business processes and increasing production output. This role works cross-functionally with Production Supervisors, the Engineering group, and Maintenance to create and implement procedures that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and overall quality of RDI's materials. The Quality Engineer will also manage regulatory processes and lead continuous quality improvement efforts, both internally and externally, to consistently meet and exceed the expectations of the Leadership Team. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. * Develop and implement inspection methods and procedures for all manufacturing processes, including injection molding, assembly, sub-assembly, and automated assembly. * Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) for new product development and report results to the Product Development and management teams. * Assist with the management of all metrology equipment (e.g., scales, measurement tools) ensuring their calibration is coordinated and performed according to quality standards. * Perform and document internal production and quality inspection audits to verify adherence to documented procedures and drive corrective actions for identified non-conformances and/or noncompliance issues. Report audit results and findings to relevant stakeholders. * Conduct or assist with 2nd-party supplier audits to qualify new suppliers and ensure compliance with RDI quality standards. * Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues, non-conformances, and noncompliance events. * Collaborate with production, engineering, and product development to identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and quality output. * Manage and maintain the company's quality standards and testing systems to ensure efficiency, reliability, and performance. * Assist with the management of the RDI-controlled document center for all quality-related documents. * Collect, analyze, and update quality-related metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for internal reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. * Develop and maintain the company's defect library and corrective action response guides to support training and standardize quality expectations. * Other Duties as assigned Competencies * Strong attention to detail * Ability to communicate effectively * Ability to collaborate effectively * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Problem-solving and analytical skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to read and understand design drawings. * Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, pin gages, weigh scales, etc. * Ability to perform ERP system transactions related to job functions. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Ability to adhere to all organizational policies and procedures. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work with minimal supervision. * Above average organization, communication, and human relations skills. * Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles and tools Education/Experience College degree in a science discipline, preferably in engineering. Solid experience with software technologies including: HTML, XML, java, and .NET 7. Minimum 3 years automated testing using HP Unified Functional Testing is required 8. Must be able to write HP UFT automated scripts using descriptive programming 9. Must have minimum of 3 years of VBScripting experience 10. Advanced knowledge of an automated Hybrid 11. Advanced knowledge of the software automation process including the ability to create traditional testing artifacts including test plans and test scripts. 12. Solid experience with MS SQL databases 13. Ability to work both in a project team environment and alone with minimal direction and supervision 14. Knowledge of Agile scrum development method and how Quality Assurance participates in this process 15. Experience with hosting requirements and test scenario reviews with developers, other QAs, and project stakeholders including project managers and product owners 16. Ability to determine and manage impact to test scenarios and cases when requirements change 17. Must be very detail oriented and able to find the root cause of defects Qualifications Responsibilities: 1. Review requirements with developers and other QAs for consistency and accuracy 2. Create, maintain, and execute test plan, test scenarios and cases against complex software where primary inputs are requirement documents and software logic extracts 3. Enter test scenarios, cases, and expected results in the test management tool 4. Deliver test scenarios and cases on time according to the project timeline 5. Create and execute test sets in the test management tool; analyze and communicate test results from tool 6. Identify test cases that are potential candidates for automation in HP UFT 7. Write and execute HP UFT automated scripts using descriptive programming. 8. Develop and implement automation frameworks, test suites and tools. 9. Design scalable automated tests across many user interfaces, features and devices 10. Collaborate with your test and developer peers to improve automated testing 11. Build automated alerting and visual tools to ensure the health of our applications 12. Execute complex SQL to ensure data is persisted correctly in databases 13. Create and track defects in JIRA 14. Participate in daily scrums 15.
