Responsibilities
In accordance with relevant standards and interoperability of Next Generation 911 systems and associated components. Testing is critical to assuring effective emergency-response communications, ensure policies, procedures, and best practices for telephony systems are being met throughout the implementation of the 9-1-1 system.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of wireline, wireless, VOIP and other communications technology
Windows desktop and server
Windows 10
Windows Server 2012 or higher
Network protocols
SIP/RTP, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP
System integration and testing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing; working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities with attention to detail.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Technical Knowledge of 911 Emergency Call Handling systems, (Cloud & Legacy) related Equipment, Network and Telephony architecture strongly preferred. i.e.
Intrado Viper
Motorola Vesta
Carbyne APEX
Cloud applications and knowledge or experience with firewalls (FortiGate), DNS, PKI, 4G/5G WAN (via CradlePoint), ESXi, Azure WAN, AWS Cloud WAN, and Terraform are beneficial.
Hand-on experience in server room (racking, cabling)
Test planning, test case development, execution, and reporting
Telephony experience - T1s, PRI circuits, TDM
Protocol analysis and troubleshooting, using Wireshark, Agilent, IRIS and/or other networking tools
Performance, load, stability testing
Experience with VMware
NG911 and Emergency Services IP Network (ESINet)
Job Responsibilities
Test and certify 911 call handling applications (software, hardware) and GIS systems on Emergency Services IP Network (ESINet), a 911 call routing application.
Testing New and Proof of concept e911 products or Networking functionality
Testing and approving MOPs for field Site Technicians
Develop and execute test plans, document defects and report test results.
Work directly with call handling and ESInet suppliers to investigate, provide root cause analyses and resolve issues. Track open defects to resolution.
Server Room Maintenance - To include Vendor CPE & ATT Network equipment. Ability to locate termination endpoint and installation of cabling of new servers' routers and associated network equipment.
Staging of New 911 CPE equipment
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range Minimum: $90,000/ year
Pay Range Maximum: $100,000/ year
