Quality Inspector II (2 nd shift) Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager (278) Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Job Functions: Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics. Records test data per inspection plans, applying statistical quality control procedures if appropriate. Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Maintains and reviews inspection data in SPC software. Set up and run CMM, Keyence and OGP programs on new launches, existing production, prototypes, tooling and other items as directed. Accurately interprets blueprints including all GD&T symbols and utilizes information when inspecting parts. Perform raw materials and outside services inspection including physical verification of dimensions and gages. Review of all specific documents, standards and clauses indicated on the purchase order. :Job Requirements Requires a High School diploma. QC Inspector conducts Line clearance, routine analysis of raw materials, in-process & finished products using a variety of testing devices & procedures to maintain product quality. Ensures that all documents for Quality compliance are consistently preserved for Product Traceability, Customer & Regulatory audit. Inspects products retained for shelf life to validate product shelf life & customers claim on product defects. Collects samples for micro & environmental testing as per established sampling scheme. Inspects in-coming Raw Materials per QC protocol, reports non-compliance to the QC Supervisor to complete SCAR. Conducts QCP & CCP tests as per protocol, documents result in SafetyChain & confirms specs compliance to Food Safety & QM systems. Performs analytical tests on samples, using standard methods of analysis specific to the raw material or finished product. Puts “HOLD” tag on non-conforming raw materials or finished products, record in the MRB log & removes tag as soon as Quality Management disposition is issued. Approve or reject items, and record inspection and disposition data. Inspect incoming raw material, thin film coating, vendor supplied tooling, grinding wheel geometric configurations and final inspections. Prepare inspection procedures for reference use in subsequent inspections. Run inspection programs for in-process process and final inspection. Assist in etching product identifications. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 1-3 years industry related experience and/or training. Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of tool and cutter grinding is ideal but not required. Manufacturing experience is required. Strong geometry knowledge is required.
