Perform incoming inspections of pressure relief valves to assess condition and identify defects.
Verify dimensional accuracy, material specifications, and component integrity after and after repair.
Oversee hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional testing to confirm valve performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experience / Skills
Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in valve inspection, repair, or industrial equipment quality assurance.
Strong knowledge of pressure relief valve standards (ASME Section VIII, API 576, NBIC).
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Ability to work non standard hours/after hours.
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail are required.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office, shipping area and all areas of the plant which are producing product line for the company. Responsibilities

Acts as a Company representative in the field. Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities as per company policies and procedures. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department to receive work orders and schedules.
Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department, terminals, and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts.
Obtains, labels and transports samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment.
Maintains assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensures equipment is properly calibrated and stored.
Measures (gauge and temperature) products and performs all required field calculations per the API Standards, completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner.
Performs specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings or confined space entry upon receiving required training.
Assists in the training of Probationary and Junior Inspectors.

**Working Environment and Physical Efforts:**

Position Overview
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. This role also supports document control, warehouse operations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
This is a dynamic, hands-on position ideal for a candidate with a manufacturing background who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new skills across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished goods using appropriate measurement tools.
Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, go/no-go gauges, thread gauges, and tape measures.
Inspect components based on technical drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications.
Identify and document non-conformances (NCRs) and collaborate with production and quality teams for resolution.
Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and quality data logs.
Conduct first article inspections (FAIs), final inspections, and spot checks.
Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and customer-related quality issues.
Support ISO 9001 compliance and participate in quality audits and documentation processes.
Help calibrate and verify measuring instruments; report any out-of-tolerance or damaged tools.
Assist in document creation and control to ensure internal compliance with quality procedures.
Collect data from the shop floor and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred.
Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and material specifications.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality systems.
Experience documenting non-conformances, conducting inspections, and completing reports.
Familiarity with warehouse operations such as receiving, inventory, packaging, and basic maintenance.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and/or quality databases.
Forklift operation experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in metal fabrication, machining, or sheet metal inspection.
Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation is a strong plus.
Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.
Experience working with ERP or QMS systems.
Knowledge of packaging methods and warehouse data systems.

Position Summary
Performs sampling, pipeline transfers, inventories and barge inspections including line condition surveys. Performs vessel inspections under the direct supervision of a Senior Inspector. Certifies that field assignments conform to company policies and procedures as well as job specific instructions supplied by the Operations Department. As company field representative, acts in a professional and dignified manner to maintain the company's respected and trusted reputation.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with good math skills and a minimum three months of inspection experience.
Must complete Inspector level training and pass corresponding theoretical tests and field evaluations.
Must have or obtain IFIA certification after gaining at least six months of industry experience.
Must maintain a valid Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC). Possess and maintain a vehicle in good working order, a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and registration.
Must be dependable, able to work independently and be able to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with numerous clients (i.e., terminal and vessel/barge personnel).
Must pass company defined physical requirements. Must meet and maintain site-specific requirements mandated by customers and/or terminals to have access to all facilities.
Responsibilities
As instructed by the Operations Department and under the strict guidelines described in the Inspection and ASTM/API manuals:
Acts as a Company representative in the field. Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities as per company policies and procedures. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department to receive work orders and schedules.
Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department, terminals, and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts.
Obtains, labels and transports samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment.
Maintains assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensures equipment is properly calibrated and stored.
Measures (gauge and temperature) products and performs all required field calculations per the API Standards, completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner.
Performs specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings or confined space entry upon receiving required training.
Assists in the training of Probationary and Junior Inspectors.
Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands
Workday may consist of 8-12 hours; however, this can vary day to day or shift to shift. Much of the work is performed outdoors, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and could include possible exposure to high and low temperatures for prolonged duration of time. Work may be performed during day or nighttime hours and may involve working alone.
