Inspectors are the "eyes" for the insurance underwriter, who is generally in another area and confined to an office. Inspection throughout the entire manufacturing process including inspection of raw materials, parts, sub-assemblies and finished goods. Ensure appropriate action is taken when non-conforming material is found. Make production run or hold recommendations based on the critically of the defect. Ensure operators are processing or assembling material according to Work Orders and/or BOM. Communicate discrepancies to the attention of the Supervisor, Assistant Q.C. Manager and Q.C. Manager Document performed inspections including non-conforming product found during the inspection process. Create DMR's in Epicor for all non-conforming product. Operate basic measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc. Follow Q.C. procedures, plans and test procedures as outlined Examine, disposition and document customer returns. Maintain good housekeeping and safety in all of the quality control work areas Prompt completion of tasks assigned by Quality Management. All other tasks so assigned. This role provides: * Ample room for learning and growth * Opportunity to be foundational in helping to formulate and implement new quality practices and testing procedures * Cross-Functional collaboration between customer service, production, logistics, and our newly revitalized R&I Department * Training and utilization of SAP Software Responsibilities: * Maintain a safe & cleanly lab environment * Conduct and record results of Product QC Testing * Utilize and maintain QC Test Equipment * Help with the creation, maintenance, and implementation of QC Tests and their associated SOPs/Work Instructions * Overview and maintenance of the Ametek Web Inspection Software System & its applications/data * Input documentation of QC Findings in applicable software/ worksheets * Aid in investigations of complaints and production quality issues as they arise * Release/ disposition Finished Good and Non-Conforming Material * Collaborate with R&I to assist on trials and qualifying new products * Collaborate with Production to identify product defects as they arise and communicating any necessary immediate actions * Ensure customer specs of finished product and packaging are met/ maintained * Manage and maintain equipment and calibrations * Help in coordination of, and participate in, internal and external audits * Conduct Risk Assessments, Root-Cause Analysis, and other Quality-related functions that assist in identification and resolution of systemic and product issues * Other Quality-Related activities and opportunities as assigned by the Quality Manager Requirements: * Excellent written and verbal communication * Strong aptitude for analytics and pattern recognition * Technical Skills/Experience with use of calibration and measuring equipment * Team Player that enjoys collaboration of ideas and departments * Detailed Oriented, with good organizational and time-management skills * Associate Degree/ equivalent education or transferable prior work experience, preferred * Microsoft Experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) * SAP Knowledge/Experience * Understanding of coating, converting, and basic quality testing * Lean Manufacturing Experience * Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
