Summary
Perform all quality assurance inspection procedures in an efficient, accurate and timely manner, in order to keep the workflow moving thru the quality department. Must be able to work within the guidelines of the company's established QMS and Quality Manual. Focus will be on receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under minimal to no supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
· Perform First Article, in-process, receiving, and final inspection activities of machined and structural sheet metal parts using a variety of conventional inspection tools, engineering drawings, process specifications, mylars, contour templates, form blocks, etc.
· Perform receiving inspection of purchased materials to verify conformance to purchase order requirements.
· Accurately document nonconforming material and prepare NCMR data for MRB review and disposition.
· Accurately and legibly fill out pertinent documentation, for example work orders/job travelers, inspection reports, etc.
· Log completed jobs in ERP system and complete appropriate paperwork (blue tags, job traveler, etc.) and moving product to the next stage for processing.
· Ensure all parts, assemblies, material tools, etc. are not damaged and are leaving the quality department FOD free.
· Verify pick tickets for accuracy and traceability.
· Assess customer returned material (RMA) and provide feedback to management for proper disposition.
· Assist in training Quality Assurance inspectors.
· Carry out duties in a safe and responsible manner and abide by safety procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintaining redline drawing mark-ups of any changes required during manufacturing (as signed off by Engineering)

Support the Hixson panel shop with any documentation needed for quality checks.
Support the Project Manager on Quality improvements throughout the project.

Issue Quality Alerts and follow up on customer defects.
Update Tier Boards and drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings.
Ability to use torque wrenches and torque screw drivers.
Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology

The ideal candidate should have steady work history that shows commitment, quality, and reliability to their work. The Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring a high level of quality is maintained throughout the process. You must have the ability to work to a high standard of safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
Utilize the NCR process and 8D approach to building quality into the processes including but not limited to:
Internally Audit daily work activities within the organization to identify non-conformances in process that require sustained correction.
Expeditiously Initiate, Manage-by-Priority, and Close out NCR's.
Escalate repeated non-conformances or advanced level problems to QA Engineers.
Ensures a quality product is passed through all stations.
Identifies opportunities to build quality into the products and processes.
Works closely with engineering, production, safety, vendors to ensure product compliance.
Engage in any improvements which seek to drive the COPQ down.
Supports Quality Engineering with root cause investigation and corrective action implementation.
Updates customer issue responses within customer portal and/or NCR system to support communication and feedback on reported issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
2-5 years' experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and/or tape measures) to do in-depth quality checks.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work as a member of a team in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to plan and organize your responsibilities according to needs of the company.
Ability to make decision and self-pace your work. Strong prioritization skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability in an organized manner using 8D/NCR methodology.
Experience with Data Collection.
Ability to read engineering drawings and measure or test product to determine conformance.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to interact with multiple people at different levels to include but not limited to upper management, production, engineering, clients, and vendors to creatively resolve quality issues.
Must act in the best interest of Vertiv to clients and suppliers.
