Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Manager will be responsible to develop, implement, and coordinate product assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.
What a typical day looks like:
Researches, evaluates and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team.
Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.
Contributes with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals.
Develops initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance program to delineate areas of control, personnel requirements and operational procedures within program.
Evaluates contents of reports from product assurance program department heads and confers with top management personnel preparatory to formulating fiscal budget for product assurance program.
Conducts management meetings with product assurance program department heads to establish, delineate and review program organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish controls and procedures for attaining goals.
Interface with customers on technical/quality issues and improvement initiatives.
In charge of managing customer audits and regulatory/compliance agency audits.
Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders and vendor quality standards.
Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.
Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry..
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science.
10+ y of experience developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems in Medical Devices industry, including people management roles experience.
Strong working knowledge of QMSR (Quality Management System) as well as ISO 13485 2016 (for medical devices)
Quality tools (8's, 5 why, PFMEA, CAPA)
Controls, Inspections in manufacturing process, incoming quality, laboratory
Must have knowledge of national and international government regulatory agency standards.

THE ROLE:
AMD's Quality Team is looking for a skilled Program Manager to support quality oversight of software for new product introduction. Here's what you need:

**Summary**
The **QA/QC Manager** assists in the direction of all site quality assurance and quality control activities. Serves as a technical specialist in one of more areas. Assists in defining inspection processes and certifying co-workers who perform inspections and manages the inspection staff. Typically Certified as Inspector Level II or III in various disciplines.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
The QA/QC Manager will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:
+ Assign staff according to QA/QC needs including inspections and audits. May supervise QC Level I, II, or III inspectors
+ Oversees applicable quality assurance documentation generated, assembled, and maintained for a specific project

+ Assists direct reports and staff in developing short and long-term goals that align with department and Company mission and strategy
+ Ensures direct reports and staff receive appropriate training that aligns with career development plans. Training may be remedial, "maintenance", or geared to promotion
+ Conducts department staff meetings and participates in developing initiatives, goals, objectives, systems, policies, and procedures
+ Collaborates with HR to ensure compliance with all employment laws, labor laws, and related Company policies; may be responsible for conducting training or coordinating workshops related to such compliance
**Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or construction-related discipline from an accredited college or university and 6 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Knowledge of construction practices (i.e., formwork, rebar, concrete placing, etc.)
+ Quality assurance-related experience preferably in the nuclear power industry (DOE/DOD facilities)
+ Quality inspector experience
+ Demonstrated skill and knowledge with applicable quality codes and standards and preferably NRC regulations
+ Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Proficiency in SharePoint/FileNet and Blue Beam software programs

Assist developing, review, and approve Site Specific Quality Management in compliance with owner contracts and company requirements; monitor implementation, progress, and results for effectiveness.

Develop/approve in-house training and certification standards for all levels of the division

Thorough working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/control activities
Experience on similar facilities under construction

Job Scope
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for developing and managing the supplier quality program within an in vitro diagnostics (IVD) manufacturing environment. This role ensures that suppliers of raw materials, components, and services meet applicable regulatory requirements (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, IVDR) and company quality standards. The Supplier Quality Manager partners with Procurement, Manufacturing, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs to drive supplier qualification, audits, continuous improvement, and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain the supplier quality management program.
* Manage and conduct supplier audits in accordance with FDA, ISO 13485, MDSAP, and IVDR requirements.
* Qualify and approve new suppliers, materials, and services for use in IVD manufacturing.
* Manage supplier corrective actions (SCARs) and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
* Assign and Manae Supplier Quality Scorecard assessments
* Collaborate with Procurement and R&D during supplier selection and qualification.
* Review and approve supplier change notifications.
* Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure supplier compliance with product, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
* Act as SME during regulatory inspections for supplier management topics.
* Manages Regular Supplier Review Board Meetings (global)
* Lead risk assessments for suppliers and support overall supply chain risk management.
* Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field required.
* Master's degree preferred.
* 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance within IVD or medical device manufacturing.
* 3+ years of experience in supplier quality management or related role.
* Proven experience leading audits (internal and external).
* Experience with FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, IVDR, and ISO 14971 risk management.
Training, Skills and Certifications
* Strong knowledge of supplier quality principles, auditing, and risk management.
* Thorough knowledge of FDA regulations and cGMP guidelines. ISO 13485, IVDR.
* Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
* Highly organized with proven time-management skills
* Strong communication and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal teams.
* Proficiency with electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS).
* ASQ certifications (CQA, CQE, or equivalent) preferred.
Travel Requirements
* 25% Travel may be required
* 5% International travel may be required
