Role Overview: The Reliability Engineer is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities and controls in collaboration with the Maintenance Department. This role will identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. Core Responsibilities: Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes: Value-added preventive maintenance tasks for new and existing equipment. Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems. Develops and provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability related risks that could adversely impact plant operations. Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These issues may include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer applies data analysis techniques that could include: Reliability modeling and prediction Fault tree analysis Six Sigma methodology Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA) Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS) Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including: Asset utilization Equipment effectiveness Remaining useful life Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets. Provides technical support to maintenance personnel. Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans and participates in the final commissioning of new installations. Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/design and make/buy decisions. Carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed. Qualifications: Required BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or equivalent degree. Minimum of 5 years of maintenance and reliability, production management, engineering or operations experience. Experience with and a thorough understanding of technical concepts, practices and procedures in bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing, and related support systems. Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and the tools associated with failure detection (i.e. vibration analysis, oil monitoring and thermography) as well as the software associated with them. Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and Visio) Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented. Good technical writing skills Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Our strategy includes building teams across our global network to pioneer and shape the future of PCI. **This Position is a 2/2/3 PM shift schedule the hours are 7pm to 7am** Position Title: Process Engineer I Location: 3001 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia, PA 19114 Shift: 2/2/3 Shift, 7pm to 7am Job Summary PCI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer I to provide technical leadership in new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will focus on mitigating packaging issues, optimizing production processes, and supporting operational efficiency. This role will involve providing technical and operational support to production, maintenance, and support teams, particularly in the areas of process improvement, equipment modification, optimization, safety, and quality improvement. The Process Engineer I will utilize lean and six sigma techniques and demonstrate excellent organizational and leadership skills in managing projects, equipment needs, staffing projections, and line layout. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Engineering Review: Perform engineering reviews for new projects, considering equipment size, capability, and component specifications. Process Design: Apply engineering principles to design new production lines, ensuring minimal defects (95%), low waste ( Customer & Internal Collaboration: Participate in customer meetings and internal reviews with plant operations, maintenance, quality, and purchasing teams. Documentation: Prepare SOPs, line layouts, production diagrams, material flow and other necessary documentation. As well as standard work, work instructions and job aids. Project Management: Lead project management for assigned projects using standardized methodologies, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Packaging Trends & Research: Research new trends in packaging, evaluating and testing new equipment and processes to drive innovation. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams on new equipment performance requirements and process improvements. Continuous Improvement: Lead CAPA investigations, identify root causes for packaging issues, and drive corrective actions to improve throughput and quality. Lean Six Sigma Methodology: Utilize DMAIC and other Lean Six Sigma techniques to improve processes, reduce waste, and optimize performance. Performance Analysis: Measure, analyze, and lead initiatives to decrease variability and improve performance metrics in the production area. Adherence to Compliance: Ensure compliance with PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies and procedures. Overtime Flexibility: This role may require overtime and/or weekend work to meet business needs. Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor. Required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, biomedical, packaging engineering, or a related field. 1-5 years of relevant experience or training. Strong mathematical and computer skills with proficiency in engineering tools. Excellent communication, report-writing, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex technical information and apply sound engineering principles. Preferred: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. Strong presentation skills for varying audiences. Creative thinking and innovation in process improvements. Ability to set and achieve challenging goals.
