This Opportunity Provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, improvement, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Tasks may include assisting with the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of facilities, roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply systems, and sewage treatment. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding material, installations, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Your Impact The successful candidate will be able to lead, support, and coordinate the following: Project Engineering Leadership * Lead and execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV. * Lead and/or support the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan has been established. * Responsible for creating and maintaining a project schedule. * Conduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with the responsible personnel identified clearly. * Coordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessary. * Maintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi-disciplinary projects, both internal and external to POWER. * Forecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planning. * Facilitate and adhere to WSP's QA/QC procedures. * Participate in industry conferences, both internal and external, to improve professional growth while fostering knowledge transfer to colleagues. * Demonstrate transmission line design expertise pertaining to PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, structure loading, material procurement, construction specifications, construction methods, construction estimates, and construction support. * Lead project teams of varying sizes. * Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities, as needed. Project Manager (PM) Support * Support the Project Manager with project status reports. * Work with PMs to develop scope, schedule, and budget for new projects. * Work with PMs to identify out-of-scope items and support work scope variances. * Provide weekly or bi-weekly project updates and project forecasting. * Lead and/or support the PM with meetings with clients, both in person and remotely. * Develop client relationships, allowing WSP the opportunity to position ourselves to win future work. Department Support * Support resource forecasting. * Support recruitment efforts. * Provide business improvement methodologies and procedures. * Support staff performance and technical development with department leadership. * Contribute to the business planning efforts. * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. * Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications * Bachelors Degree in Engineering * 5-7 years' experience in the transmission field of managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams * Professional Engineering (PE) licensure. * Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-90. * Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation * The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel. * Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite * Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Senior Water Resource Engineer Responsibilities: Responsibilities include project management and design of irrigation and water resource engineering projects, NEPA permitting, engineering report writing, construction management; and coordination with other engineering staff, suppliers, contractors, and clients. The candidate must have a proven track record of marketing, building strong relationships, securing work with potential clients, and providing exceptional project delivery to existing clients. The candidate should be known in industry-affiliated professional organizations and groups and have a solid track record of managing internal technical teams and managing projects to profitability. Requirements: Qualified candidates will have a BS/BA in Engineering or related degree and a minimum of 10+ years of experience in irrigation design and/or water resource related fields. Proficient in EHV substation design (AIS/GIS), including layout planning, equipment selection, grounding, lightning protection, and insulation coordination (345kV and above). Familiar with SF6 gas-insulated and air-insulated systems, and well-versed in industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, NESC, ANSI, and OSHA. Skilled in protection and control integration, including control buildings, panels, and coordination with civil teams on foundations, grading, and drainage. Experienced in construction practices, commissioning, testing, and interpreting field markups/redlines; knowledgeable in arc flash mitigation and safety compliance. Effective in managing cross-disciplinary teams, budgets, and timelines; strong communication skills for technical writing, client presentations, and issue resolution. **Background Check and Drug Testing Information:** CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions.
