Responsibilities: As an MPC Commercial intern, you could be placed within one of the departments as described below. Job shadowing and volunteer opportunities are available during internships. Some travel may be required in each of these roles. Scheduling: We are seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling intern to support our team in optimizing resource allocation and production schedules. The Intern will be responsible for scheduling the delivery of light products, feedstocks, and biofuels by pipeline or waterborne transportation to third party and company locations to meet customer's demand (sales forecast). The intern will coordinate pipeline, barge and/or tanker movements for appropriate timing, batch size and sequence of product shipments to optimize the supply of the available products from refineries and terminals, while also minimizing transportation costs and ensuring quality. They will monitor inventories at terminals and refineries daily and adjust shipping schedules to avoid shortages and the use of excess working capital. Additionally, they will develop improved scheduling methods to efficiently utilize company resources, optimize inventory levels, and minimize transportation costs as well as coordinate the communications between terminals, Commercial, Exchange and Product Quality regarding any inventory or operational issue. + Desired major and or minor - Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance or other related disciplines. Marketing: Corporate Office-based interns will support the marketing team by analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
