ZelTech is seeking a resourceful and innovative expert with applications in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Piloting, programming, and avionics. The candidate for this position will provide on-site system level development, troubleshooting evaluation, and test support to REPD at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Florida. Candidates for this position must be willing and able to travel for up to 30% of the time stateside or OCONUS.
Responsibilities:
Must be adaptable, innovative, creative, and ready to support mission critical projects.
Must aide in the development and implementation of:
UAV Assembly (component construction, power, and avionics).
UAV component analysis, troubleshooting, and reverse engineering.
UAV payload integration (cameras, servos, unique payloads).
UAV Autopilot (Pixracer/Pixhawk/etc.) installation & programming (Ardupilot, etc.).
Embedded systems/components integration (motors, electronic speed controllers, servos, cameras, etc.)
Circuit board/microcontroller development and fabrication (including soldering).
Plan and organize work to ensure timely completion of multiple independent tasks and work effectively in team environments to solve problems
Assemble Unmanned Aircraft from components.
Program, tune, and pilot autopilots and UAS systems.
Integrate multiple electronic components and COTs/GOTs systems into UAS and fabricate & program functional circuits/controllers to operate the system of components.
Plan, lead, and conduct hardware development, modification, and related functions to adapt vendor-manufactured hardware to meet Government needs and contingencies.
Requirements:
Must be a US citizen.
Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
3-5 yrs experience with UAV platforms configuration, upgrade and maintenance.
Must be highly skilled at manually piloting fixed wing and quad copters UAS.
The ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment.
Evaluate or test computer applications or programs to ensure compliance with technical, professional or organizational standards/requirements.
Analyze problems to determine technical solutions.
Comply with CCAFS industrial hygiene requirements.
Capable of using tools such as soldering iron, oscilloscopes, voltmeter, and other electronic analysis tools or software.
Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the REPD mission
Successful background and drug screening check.
Preferred Requirements:
Associates degree.
Valid tourist passport.
Licensed UAV pilot credential.
Working knowledge of embedded micro-controller systems such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
Working knowledge of common programming languages, including C/C++, Python, Java, etc.
Previous experience with Government research and development desired.

Wildlife Surveys:

Management Practices:

As a Wildlife Exclusion Technician, you help Central Florida residents reclaim their homes! When someone calls us in a panic because of a raccoon, squirrel, or rat infestation, you're the person who comes to their rescue! Clients feel reassured as you knowledgeably answer their questions and take control of the situation. As a trained professional, you know exactly what to do: you set strategically placed traps to capture and remove the critters. Employing recommended safety precautions, you humanely transport squirrels and raccoons to an appropriate location and release them back into the wild.
Once the animals have been removed, you move on to the exclusion process. Observant and thorough, you inspect the property to identify active and potential entry points. Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and are unloaded by the team member using a hand truck.
Deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds with dimensions of up to 3' x 1.5'.
Cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72 high.
Carrying
Large cans, weighing 3 pounds, 7 ounces, are carried from the workstation to storage shelves.
Occasionally, pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds is carried from the storage room to the front of the store.
Trays of pizza dough are carried three at a time over short distances, and weigh approximately 12 pounds per tray.
Pushing
To move trays which are placed on dollies. A stack of trays on a dolly is approximately 24- 30 and requires a force of up to 7.5 pounds to push.
Trays may also be pulled.
Climbing
Team members must infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.

Wildlife Surveys:

* Collect related data on nest success and productivity.
* Collect information on predation (e.g., via track observation, remote camera deployment and data analysis).
* Enter data into the Florida Shorebird Database.
Management Practices:
* Assist with posting regulatory signage for management at Critical Wildlife Areas and other priority shorebird nesting sites.
* Maintain signs that are posted around nesting sites throughout the season, especially immediately following storms or other disturbance events. This work often requires effective coordination with managers of the sites where posting is being conducted.
* Construct and maintain decoys and electric fencing at a social attraction site.
* Perform other related and necessary work as required.
Stewardship:
* Responsible for maintaining posted signs to ensure areas are continuously protected.
* Approach beachgoers in a positive and friendly manner to effectively inform the public about beach-nesting birds and reasons why areas are posted, especially during times of high beach usage, such as Memorial and Independence Day weekends.
* Report violations to law enforcement as needed.
The person hired in this position will work with biologists in the Wildlife Diversity Conservation Section to assist with the duties described above. This full-time position typically works Monday - Friday, with rotating Saturday shifts.
As a Wildlife Exclusion Technician, you help Central Florida residents reclaim their homes! When someone calls us in a panic because of a raccoon, squirrel, or rat infestation, you're the person who comes to their rescue! Clients feel reassured as you knowledgeably answer their questions and take control of the situation. As a trained professional, you know exactly what to do: you set strategically placed traps to capture and remove the critters. Employing recommended safety precautions, you humanely transport squirrels and raccoons to an appropriate location and release them back into the wild.
Once the animals have been removed, you move on to the exclusion process. Observant and thorough, you inspect the property to identify active and potential entry points. You leave nothing to chance, carefully examining the building by going on the rooftop and crawl spaces. Next, you properly check any weak spots and seal up the home with sheet metal, concrete and hardware cloth to protect the residence from future infestations. When necessary, you place rodent monitoring stations on the property to keep the exterior population under control.
