Summary The NeuroOncology Program, led by Dr. Michael Vogelbaum, is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Coordinator for the Research Database. This vital position is about more than just reviewing and updating electronic medical records for research participants; it's about interpreting essential reports, including pathology and radiology, and ensuring data abstraction, management, and quality assurance while upholding the sacred trust of patient privacy. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting groundbreaking non-therapeutic studies conducted by Dr. Vogelbaum and other faculty members in the Program, contributing to a brighter future in cancer research. Position Highlights: * Works collaboratively with Total Cancer Care Protocol (TCCP), Principal Investigators, clinical faculty/staff and study team to coordinate tasks related to completing data abstraction. * Supports a limited number of PI-initiated research projects for non- therapeutic research studies with minimal supervision as assigned. The Ideal Candidate: * Must have experience in data abstraction, utilizes various sources such as data collection tools or subject's medical records and enters into an electronic database system, while maintaining privacy and protecting PHI. * Must have experience in data management enters accurate data in a timely fashion, identifies data discrepancies, missing data and follows up with resolution. * Must have experience in general quality assurance and quality checks on the data such as proofing for data entry errors and maintaining accurate data. * Demonstrates an understanding of medical terminology, most specifically terms related to anatomy, physiology, oncology, pathology, radiology and cancer treatment modalities. * Must be comfortable talking to physicians and other health care professionals. * Must have the ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple work assignments; develop and maintain effective work relationships. * Must have the ability to read, write, interpret and apply instructions to assigned activities. * Must have experience in the use of basic office equipment. Responsibilities: * Perform data abstraction across a large research study portfolio for studies ranging in timelines with a growing team by accessing different technologies sources and tools. * Maintain high quality data by protecting patient privacy, performing quality checks within internal databases, completing quality audits and resolve all data queries from internal or external reviews. * Prepare data abstraction forms and databases in Redcap or keep current with assigned electronic data capture systems such as external sponsored systems. * Deliver strong customer experience by establishing expectations, timelines for deliverables, and proactively communicating with all customers. Your work will span evaluating public and private companies, analyzing adoption curves, and understanding the broader societal and economic implications of AI. Your work will directly influence our venture capital and public investment decisions, and you will collaborate with ARK's Next Generation Internet team. As part of ARK's forward-thinking culture, you will also help automate research processes and leverage AI tools to enhance data analysis, modeling, and insight generation. Your Responsibilities * Will support deal sourcing, communications with companies, and investment underwriting. * Will be embedded within the research team with the goal of extending our research & investment activities, particularly in the private markets. * Support ARK's portfolios by combining top-down thematic research and bottom-up fundamental analysis to identify investment opportunities. * Work closely with ARK's Internet team to identify innovative technologies, model the growth rates and sizes of new markets, estimate unit economics, and assess the competitive landscape. * Research and identify private companies that are the leaders, enablers, and beneficiaries of disruptive innovation, focused on the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, including enterprise software-as-a-service, infrastructure-as-a-service, and semiconductors. * Form investment recommendations based on your research to share with ARK's Analysts, Directors of Research, Chief Futurist, and ARK's CEO & CIO. * Meet experts on your research topics through X, conferences, ARK calls, or other channels and engage with them, learn from them, and share ARK's published research. Actively gather feedback on your work through X and other online platforms.
