Researchers have great independence to pursue the research directions they think would be most impactful as part of a small focused team with minimal bureaucracy. They are enabled by state-of-the-art research clusters with very high GPU-to-researcher ratios, and supported by excellent engineering, hardware, and systems teams to realize their vision. Your work will be directly, clearly, highly impactful on the business, and it will be challenging: this is a field with no easy or obvious solutions. You'll be responsible for improving every part of our models: from featurization of data, to architecture design, to training dynamics, to how trading decisions are made.
Qualifications
Must have two or more years work experience in deep learning research, for any domain: robotics, biology, chemistry, physics, audio, video, etc.
Experience translating methods between areas of application is highly valued.
LLM experience is valuable, but not necessary.

This position is primarily a temporary/training position in which the incumbent plays a substantive role in planning and conducting research by using quantitative and qualitative methods to collect, analyze and report data activities. In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, this role will participate in the planning of independent research, will analyze and interpret data, will publish results, will represent the university at conferences and meetings, and may develop new theories and methodologies. This position may also help the Principal Investigator to lead and direct the work of lower level research staff. This role performs work under the supervision of experienced researchers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Conducts high quality research in the area of interest;
* Works closely with graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to joint projects;
* Participates with teaching and outreach activities and programs;
* Presents and publishes research findings at conferences and peer reviewed publications;
* Prepares progress reports for the funding sources;
* Conducts research in the area of experimental molecular spintronics devices and nanoscale materials-based devices and sensors. These nanoscale devices and sensors will be investigated for fundamental understanding and applications in related areas.
* Makes devices using micro nanofabrication tools such as photolithography and thin film depositions with sputtering machine.
* Nanoscale characterization with a variety of tools, e.g. Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), SEM, electrical transport, and spectroscopy instruments.
* Low temperature transport or low temperature materials and device characterization.
* Magnetic property testing
