Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have 1 year of technical survey training, plus 1 year of experience or equivalent work experience of 2 years. Experience must include construction staking such as: grade staking, underground utilities, surface improvements, preliminary surveys, traverse & aerial control.
Position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for 8 to 10 hours per day and swing an 8 lb. sledge-hammer.
Candidate must be dependable and display the ability to work well with others as they will be on a survey team.
Good driving record is a must.

This position is responsible for managing clients, employees, and projects in the collection of information and execution of surveying and construction staking projects, specifically within California's standards and requirements.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide direction, support, and mentorship to lower-level staff members.
Oversee time management and scheduling for projects.
Write proposals and perform cost estimating.
Ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
Prepare CAD drawings for boundary surveys, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, land title surveys, as-built surveys, subdivision maps, and other survey-related documents.
Process submittals with various city and county agencies.

Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience in office mapping related to private land development and public works projects, particularly in California. While no professional license is required, knowledge of California jurisdictional codes, local municipal standards, and procedures is essential.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years in a management role supervising subordinate staff.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with clients and public agencies.
Experience preparing construction staking calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and performing detailed take-offs and construction cost estimates.
Familiarity with construction phase sequencing, identifying critical site constraints, and understanding regulatory issues.
Proficient in preparing legal descriptions, boundary analysis, closure calculations, and exhibits.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Trimble Business Center; familiarity with Carlson software is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and provide direction for daily tasks for field crews.
Coordinate with project engineers, survey analysts, clients, and contractors.
Schedule field crews, evaluate staff performance, and prepare survey cost estimates while managing contract hours and scope of work.

* Develops significant new business, leads client teams and participates on other client teams, leads cross-business unit selling, assesses client technology trends, and performs client sales forecasting.

* Client Team Leaders determine pursuit staffing and pursuit and project teaming partners, and make go/ no-go decisions.
* Ultimately, the Client Team Leader is responsible for client profitability, favorable contract terms, revenue forecasting, and the client sales result.
Project Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Serve as a pursuit champion and project manager as appropriate for Land Development projects.
