Assist with formulating a teaching plan based on identified learning needs. Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients and families. Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Completes assignments and workload in a timely fashion. Provides prompt and courteous service to customers of the department. Demonstrates appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills. Communicates appropriately with interdisciplinary team. Requirements Student extern will work the designated schedule with an assigned preceptor, following their nurse preceptor work schedule Weekend rotation is every third weekend Must attend all required clinical experiences and course seminars for Summer Term (May 2026 through July 2026) Education/Certifications Currently enrolled in an accredited RN school of nursing. Successfully completed all junior level nursing courses or within one year of graduation (entering or completing senior level studies in nursing program), in good academic standing with Nurse Faculty recommendation. Certification - Recommended, but not required to have one of the following.
