Diesel Mechanic Position Summary:
This position is required to safely and accurately perform general property and vehicle maintenance & repair duties in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and understanding basic preventative maintenance and repair techniques of Class 5 through Class 8 commercial vehicles to include tank trailer inspection and maintenance related to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations is required.
Diesel Mechanic Essential Functions:
All fleet mechanic positions will be required to perform vehicle maintenance & repair duties safely and accurately in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment.
Fleet Mechanic Apprentices will receive hands on training and instruction on preventive maintenance/inspections/repairs of Class 5 through Class 8 Commercial Vehicles and maintenance/inspection of tank trailers.
Fleet Mechanic Levels I & II will learn and become proficient utilizing the company's maintenance software program to create and complete work orders and maintain work order/vehicle maintenance records. They will also train/assist other technicians in performing preventive/repair of facilities and equipment to include trucks, tractors, and trailers.
Fleet Mechanic Level III will build on the duties from Diesel Mechanic I/II and become qualified as necessary with appropriate certifications to perform new technology evaluations, diagnosis, and repairs.
HM183 will build on the duties of a Level III Diesel Mechanic, Certified as a (DOT) commercial motor vehicle inspector in compliance with FMCSR's
Has been signing test forms as the Registered Inspector for at least 3 years.

Summary
The Pump Mechanic will repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipment, troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (both single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (both vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipment.
Responsibilities of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
Repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipment
Troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (both single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (both vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipment
Install equipment using manufacturer specifications ensuring proper alignment balance and tolerances
Read and understand an IOM and BOM

Qualifications of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
Advanced mechanical aptitude required
3-5 years of experience working with rotating equipment (mainly pumps) including but not limited to API and ANSI Pumps, centrifugal and plunger pumps, all brands of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, gear pumps, diaphragm pumps, H-pumps, gear boxes and rotary valves (Preferred)
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
Experience with alignment methods and tools including laser alignment (Preferred)
Have the ability or learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, and service manuals and posses ability to work with basic math
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments

Your Impact The focus of the maintenance team is to keep equipment in the RDC fully operational. The RDC Maintenance Mechanic I is a knowledgeable repair person with exposure to and experience with RDC systems and building components. In addition, the individual in this role has general knowledge and basic repair capability in the other two areas outside his/her specialty. Compensation:

Versar is seeking Liquid Fuels Mechanics with knowledge and experience to support Versar Global Solutions' team performance on assigned United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Recurring Maintenance and Minor Repair (RMMR) task orders. What You'll Do:
Perform routine maintenance inspections at various U.S. military locations in the continental United States, through anticipation and planning of recurring maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Class I, II and III hydrant systems including other supporting equipment and appurtenances.
Maintain fuel storage tanks, including inspection reports of the operations for unusual circumstances to include pressure changes, leaks, corrosion, etc.
Support development of scopes of work for repair and modification Service Orders for Department of Defense (DoD) Fuel facilities as part of the USACE RMMR program. Repairs will be developed in accordance with UFC 3-460-01 “Design: Petroleum Facilities,” American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 650 “Advanced Tank & Construction,” and applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
Diagnose and correct problems using test equipment, statistical, equipment history, manufactures specifications, and industry-related standards to avoid fuel spills or fuel facility related events.
Review repair specifications of equipment or components being purchased or fabricated for repair and construction projects, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and material specifications. Procure material required by repair or maintenance work.
Maintain records relating to maintenance. Document and report all activities in a centrally managed maintenance management system.
Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and military management personnel utilizing good judgment in recognizing scope of authority. Investigate and adjust customer complaints and concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance.
Maintain knowledge of military standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), EM-385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual, OSHA, EPA, and other industry standards.
Adhere to strictly enforced Health and Safety requirements with the highest quality standards expected.
Perform all other duties as prescribed by management.
What You'll Bring:
Two to five years of experience in liquid fuels maintenance or construction on various types of fuel systems that can include marine loading arms, bulk fuel facilities, hot pit fueling systems, gas station dispensing systems, cathodic protection systems, and leak detection systems. Willing to waive some experience and train the right candidate.
High School Diploma/GED
Proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including Word and Excel; be capable of uploading daily/weekly field reports with photos to cloud-based information management systems.

What You Will Do:
Follow and complete checklists to ensure a thorough examination of all parts and systems for all vehicles, documenting safety issues and necessary repair items.
Review the checklist after the vehicle is checked in to evaluate for cost-effective and necessary repairs
Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment
Evaluate safety and appearance, and perform general maintenance as required.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs such as spark plug, worn parts, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors, thoroughly and accurately, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels
Conduct test drives before and after repairs to ensure successful resolution of issues.
Collaborate with the Buyer to identify vehicles requiring external repairs and manage the delivery and pickup process with outside repair shops.
Maintain accurate records of all repairs, invoices, and inspection reports on a daily basis.
Manage the inventory of shop supplies to ensure availability for repairs.

Essential Functions:
Troubleshoot and repair equipment - electrical, hydraulic, diesel and mechanical.
Provide training and technical knowledge on full range of equipment.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
Provide clear work order documentation and reports when needed.
Ensure compliance in all railroad, safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
Report to the Project Superintendent with a dotted line to the equipment manager.
Overall responsibility for keeping all machine running efficiently.
