About the Role responsibilities
Organizes/Manage the SW Quality function for the Secure Power business (includes SW quality planning, quality measurements, and customer perspective)
Advises the team and management regarding quality matters to achieve best in class customer experience and satisfaction
Evaluates current offers, processes, and tools and drive continuous improvements
In collaboration with a network of experts including but not limited to Research & Development (R&D) and Quality Leaders
Strengthen / Enforce the SW development process from a quality perspective
Deploy the SW Quality Fundamentals to all offers within the Line of Business (LoB)
Identify, develop and deploy innovative design practices to strengthen robust SW and FW design, tackling the full customer experience, to avoid bug creation and strengthen bug detection
Drive the change from feature centric to test centric development mindset and practices
Establish metrics and dashboards, tracking progress to ensure teams are delivering high quality SW and FW
Work with SW and Systems Architects to ensure testing, logging, and debugging methods are included in SW/Systems Architecture
Ensure teams are performing technical risk assessments and systematic root cause analysis of ideally all issues
Drive resolution and corrective action of open customer issues
Bring consistency and coaching in quality methods and tools in project development, develop expertise in all functions involved on SW development & validation (R&D, marketing, and quality teams) especially to Product Owners and Scrum Masters
Embrace digital and AI tools and technologies to automate as much as possible
Close the loop between field data and actions for development teams to improve overall offer quality

Opportunity Overview:
The ICE Technician maintains and repairs electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control systems within a power plant environment. This includes monitoring and troubleshooting Distributed Control Systems (DCS), gas and steam turbine control systems, generators, transformers, and switchgear. You will ensure plant performance through preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair activities while following safety and compliance standards.
Your Day-to-Day:
* Maintain plant electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
* Monitor and troubleshoot plant Distributed Control System (DCS) and turbine control systems.
* Perform routine and complex troubleshooting activities for electrical and control systems.
* Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for efficient work planning and documentation.
* Improve preventive maintenance programs to meet OEM recommendations and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate logs, manuals, records, blueprints, and operating procedures.
* Provide detailed written reports on control system conditions.
* Incorporate safe work practices and comply with all safety and health policies.
* Be the technical resource and provide on-the-job training to others in complex technical areas.
Who You Are:
* High School Diploma or technical/vocational degree (or equivalent).
* Minimum 5 years in instrumentation, electrical, and control system applications.
* Experience with chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
* Proficiency in DCS programming and configuration.
* Advanced certifications/licensures.
* Valid state driver's license.

Job Overview :
The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand & Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Responsibilities :
In addition to performing preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs. All service technicians will assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
* Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
* Provides technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
* Increases Ingersoll Rand customers awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions, such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations.
Requirements :
* 2 years+ experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
* Must possess a valid driver&aposs license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
* Every service technician is required to be on-call, but you will not be on-call for the first 90 days to get used to the schedule. This is shared with every service tech, and it requires being available 24/7 for the 1-week duration where you will go to customer sites. On-call weeks can be as often as every 4 weeks or greater than 4 weeks, but that will be determined by the hiring manager.
* This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Core Competencies :
* Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
* Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
* Basic vibration troubleshooting.

You will serve as the technical authority and thought leader for Life Sciences automation projects, bringing deep domain expertise in process control, regulatory compliance, and digital manufacturing to support ABB's role as a Main Automation Contractor (MAC) and digital transformation partner.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as ABB's lead technical expert for DCS and MES solutions in the Life Sciences sector and provide technical sales support and domain-specific guidance to business development and proposal teams.
* Ensure technical excellence and customer satisfaction, contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the Life Sciences Automation segment.
* Collaborate with strategic customers to develop automation strategies and roadmaps aligned with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
* Lead or support design reviews, functional specifications, and validation documentation in compliance with FDA, EMA, and cGMP regulations.
* Lead technical presentations and solution workshops/lunch and learns with executive stakeholders to influence buying decisions and build trust.
* Set up, support and deploy DCS demo centers to support customer engagement.
* Partner with product management and R&D to influence development of Life Sciences-focused features and digital capabilities.
* Conduct internal and external training sessions to disseminate Life Sciences automation knowledge across ABB.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical), or Biomedical Science; MSc preferred.
* 15 + years in Pharma/Biotech automation, MES, or EPC project business with ≥ 5 years P&L or segment leadership.
* 5+ years of experience in MES in a GMP-regulated, batch manufacturing setting preferred.
* Experience in a Main Automation Contractor (MAC) or system integrator role preferred.
* Extensive automation/domain knowhow in long-cycle, largescale life sciences projects with proven oversight of substantial execution backlogs and value creation track record .
* Experience with ABB's DCS is a plus-experience with other DCS products (Emerson, Siemens) and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) is also beneficial.
* Deep expertise in cGMP, FDA/EMA, GAMP 5, Data Integrity, ISA95, ISA88.
* Strong knowledge of ISA-88 / S88 batch architecture and recipe configuration.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $116,200 and $185,920 annually and is bonus eligible.
